As long i've played this game frames appers to drop from time to time. One plays and suddenly frames goes down about 10-20fps randomly(in towns and outside towns as well).. it can be a mater of seconds between drops and i can sometimes play for several minutes before it happens..

..and after the latest updates i've experienced a new kind of framedrops where the gamecharacter walk/runs forward, and have been walkning/running for a while and i then, for example, am just beside a stone or a tree i can suddenly apper a few steps behind the stone or tree i was just about to pass, so i have to pass it again so to speak :confused2: ...

Anyone else here got this "problem"? :confused2:

(My system is.. Amd64 2.2ghz CPU, 1gig ddr-ram dualchannel, Geforce 7600GS(nvidia9755 drivers), Ubuntu Linux 7.04 32bit)

It's called "lag".
You can't really do anything against this.
As more people are playing this game it will become worse untill the developers either buy a better or more servers or fix some waypointchecks.

Everyone put forth $5 to NGD to build them a quad dual core opteron server w/ 8Gb+ of ram and a raid array of 15k RPM HDs then they can go get themselves a host that has a fios connection to reduce overall latency which will help lag allot.

That or they can wait till AMD's barcelona quads drop this fall and get 4 quad core cpus.

*note, Intel's quad cores are not real quad core cpus, they take to of their dual core cpus and link them otgether through the FSB, this is bad as it adds an extra bottleneckto the system using the very valuable FSB interconect that connects most of the main components of the comp together, maxing it out is not a good thing for lag. OTOH AMDs quads comming out are true quad cores meaning that they really are 4 cpu cores all put together on one piece of silicon.

Yeah, this type of lag is pretty annoying. Especially as an archer training, because I'm constantly backing up when shooting, and so I'll get "jerked" forward toward the mob and get hit an extra time or two.

I think something can be done to the way the game handles the lag to prevent the jerking movement. But I'll leave the developers to decide on that.

Did anyone else get hit with a massive framerate loss with the update today? Using my ATI 9600 SE I was getting 28-30 fps. After this update my avg is 15 and below. I used rovclock to boost my GPU up to 350mhz but this did not really help anything.

I also have some issue with fps and today's update, i used to had some framedrops before but only when some other chars were near and only once, now its almost every 10 seconds (from 30 to 0 for something like 0,5-1 second).

EDIT: With second update everything seems to be back to "normal"

Yes the second update seemd to fix things and it's running better now than before the first update.

Problem is the second update is fast on crashes as well. Not playable for me because of this... :-(

Not one crash with the second patch yet and that's with an ATI card. What distro you guys using?
