Twice within a span of about 20 minutes, I was just going about my regular questing routine when the client suddenly closed and returned me to the desktop. I opened the client again, filled out the bug report and got back to where I was. About five minutes later, it closed again and I'm back at the desktop.
I did install my system updates today so I will try restarting and logging back in. If this happens again I will follow up.

I wouldn't be able to help, but regnum does have problems with some Linux os and other software. Would you post what version of linux and some system specs so someone could help you?

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit
AMD A10-5750M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics × 4

BTW, restarting after the update seems to have helped. Thanks for the reply.

Usually disabling shadows, beams and weapon trails helps. They are liiitle buggly and cause crahses.

Other that can crash client is to put it in window mode and try to move/minimize/maximize and so on.

I disabled weapon beams an now in runs pretty stable so far. But now i cant see from where i get shot and thats a big disadvantage. I hop this problem gets some attention soon, it seems to be well known for a while.

I had this issue as well. But on my current linux system it is gone. Don't know why. I am using Catalyst 14.6 beta 2, Radeon HD 8470D under Calculate 14.

following extra options are in xorg.conf (don't change the identifier):
Section "Device"
Identifier "fglrxVGA"
Driver "fglrx"
Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "True"
Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "True"
Option "RenderAccel" "True"
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"
Option "TripleBuffer" "True"
Option "UseFBDev" "True"
Option "VideoOverlay" "on" # fix bug with mplayer
Option "TexturedVideo" "on" # fix bug Xv
EndSection

crash happen sometimes when I switch applications. Switching between fullscreen and window mode with alt+enter usually doesn't crash the client. Also switching apps works mostly without crash if I keep a part of the regnum window visible. When switching work spaces, it crashes most of the time.

If you still have no success under Ubuntu, you could consider to try a live system of calculate 14. If the game doesn't start, it might help to change the theme from the default to something else. You would have to set the driver setting on proprietary AMD driver, before it loads the live system.

Allright, allright! The same happened with me yesterday... And I have disconnected In Haven!!! It never happened with me before... and I found alot of "new bugs" and the launcher crashed too... But, the game is still very atmospheric and great!
