I just upgraded to Windows 10 and when i run the launcher it just gets stuck on Verifying and won't go any further no matter how long I keep it open. Anyone else upgrade to Win10 and get Regnum working?

I haven't received the notification yet that it's available for me... But by looking up some things about it recently, it does sound like there are a lot of bugs with Windows 10 that Microsoft still has to work out over time.

The more I read about it, the more I am having second thoughts about downloading it right away.

Edit- Eh, scratch that... I clicked on the icon at the bottom to check the upgrade status, and it IS available (so much for this "notification" that it was supposed to give me). I'll upgrade and then tell you if it works with Renum. I'd suggest maybe re-installing the game in the meantime, I'm sure it's possible that upgrading caused problems with some of your existing apps/programs.

I think the whole Win10 update is a big pile of shit, but apart from that -

windows 10 + regnum is working for me without any differences

Finished the update, and the game still works fine. Only difference is that the game sounds are different quality since the upgrade.

Other than that, windows 10 looks good so far.

If you upgrade, will it take away hard disc space again?
My SSD has only 3GB of free space :D

Edit: will I have all my currently installed programs too after the upgrade?

Yes, you will have all of your stuff after the upgrade, but they say you should backup everything important just in case something goes wrong with the file transfer during the upgrade. As for your other question, not sure.

yes you will, if you select the appropriate checkbox.

If you can't wait for the win10 update, you might also do it now: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

ive just upgraded to Win10 and the only issues i had was the AMD video playback enhancements,a reinstall of the ATI drivers fixed that.

regnum is running fine under win10.i quite like it to be honest, dont see what all the negative feedback on it was for....

Windows 10 needs 5GB of free space so nvmd, I will have to delete some stuff before I can upgrade :D

Not having any problems here. Runs smooth.

I would suggest Updating your Drivers or Reinstall them.

Or just stop using that trash.

still having same issue.

I have updated drivers, uninstall/reinstall game on 2 separate PC's I've upgraded to Win10 from Win7 and they do the same thing when loading the launcher. As soon as I click Start it goes into verifying and then gets about 95% across and gets stuck and doesn't do anything.

Delete all files in regnum directory BUT the launcher. Start the launcher and it should download all files needed to run the game. The game will then take a while to launch as it will download many resources.

Just tried that. It creates a new LiveServer folder and game.cfg and ROLauncher.ini and gets stuck on the same thing. Does Verifying and stops at around the 95% mark but doesn't download anything.

How long do you wait when it stucks?

You must be very patient, even if it seems it doesn't download anything, it just might :)
Go watch a movie or do something else, check back in a while and the miracle might have happened!

My 50 cents :D.

Yes I let it sit there overnight before and same results. This is all it does on both windows10 machines. It goes very fast to that spot once I hit play and does nothing beyond that.

Before hitting "play", go to "options" at the top of the launcher and check for "update all new resources at once".
Maybe it helps...

Tried that, even tried using safe mode same thing :(

I'm sad.

Out of ideas now...:s

Maybe if you'd re-install windows 10 and the whole game onto it?
I know, it's a lot of work that no one wanna do...and no guarantee it will run then. Don't know if it's worth a try.

If you have already downloaded the resources in the launcher, and the only problem is that you cannot get in the game -

have you tried running the client directly?
aka via cmd, shortcut target, bat or sth. similar:
"C:\Games\NGD Studios\Champions of Regnum\LiveServer\ROClientGame.exe" [yourUsername] [yourPasswordAsMD5-Hash]

I'm using a laptop that has 2 video cards the Intel one listed there and an Nvidia GTX 680M. Not sure why it's defaulting to the Intel card even though I set the .exe in the nvidia control panel to use the nvidia card. Not sure if that's the issue or not.

I have a DUMP file as well it created below.

Try not only setting the launcher to nvidia card, try setting ROGameClient.exe in LiveServer directory to use it as well, it is the main game executable.

I set both .exe's in nvidia control panel to use the Nvidia card but everytime i start the launcher and go to options it still shows the Intel card instead of Nvidia card and can't get past verify.

i dual booted ubuntu on my windows 10 box and regnum loads fine on there so i kind of ruled out my network but something specifically in windows 10 blowing up on all 3 of my windows 10 boxes.

further investigating with process explorer. i see rolauncher tries to connect to 91.123.197.143:80 over and over and over and over but doesn't seem like it's able to for some reason. I can telnet to the IP on port 80 no problem from command line.

On the topic of windows 10. This upgrade is a spyware to access your personal data. Then it is shared by who knows who? Good thing i never upgraded to windows 10. Just a heads up though. Some people might already know about this.

Heres the link for info about it if you wish to read up on it. later :]

Yeah its unfortunate. However, i wouldn't say were slaves. I mean you could chose not to install windows 10 and stay with windows 8.1 like me. :D

lolz luddy,i wasnt referring to windows 10,but society in general.reading that article they state windows 10 has 15% of the market share already.windows 8.1 is sure to be ignored in all future updates and eventually we wont be able to visit websites or run applications unless we have the newest version of windows.

atleast there is linux right?

Right, theres linux.

What keeps you from not trying it? Are there some blocker programs with no linux equivalent that make you stick on Windows? I dont have much hope for this OS, while quite nice under the hood, it goes down since windows 7, worse and worse - it seems MS tries to jump on the Data broker bandwagon, comply as close as needed to regulations. Newest tricks are to hide the options so deep in the mess, that noone finds the turnoff switches.

The user and beginner-experience on some linux distros got so much better when you compare it to 5-7 years ago, if you want some help, just let me know. Its really not complicated to try it. You dont even need to install it on your hard drive to test it.
