Just unziped and tar-xvfd the launcher on my computer, and it tells me I don't have a compatible card. Well let me record the exact error.

Unsupported video card!

There are three possible causes for this error:
1. Your video card is too old
2. You haven't installed the latest available drivers
3. You haven't installed the latest DirectX version

I'm using a Radeon 9700
With the updated drivers from their site, on Ubuntu Feisty Fawn

Not sure if that helps any, but it seems to be info on another card. But I'm not 100% tech savy when it comes to cards, more of a software man than hardware. Any ideas?

You need to enable s3tc texture compression. Somebody can help with this? I don't know about driconf and all that stuff.

There is a small GUI tool for enabling S3TC.
Download it from here
http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/DriConf
Should be selfexplaining. If not ask away.

Hi, I have problem, I downloaded driconf and when I start it, it says:
Could not detect any configurable direct-rendering capable devices. DRIconf will be started in expert mode

And then starts smthg where are from left listed 2 files and dont have any "options" to set.

I m using ATI 9250, Mesa 7.0.1.

How can I enable s3tc compression?

ATI put no effort into their drivers, and their Linux one is even worse than their windows one. Sell up and get a cheap Nvidia card, that's the quickest solution. I'm using an old 5200 using Feisty and opengl and it runs real nice :)

That's simply what your name tells. TRASH!
okay, the ati driver cannot be compared to the nvidia drivers YET. But the last reslease boosted the performance. Some people say the next driver will do it, too.
Radeon 9700 should be good enough to run Regnum.
With the mesa driver Regnum seems not be possible to play.

direct rendering: No

This means that there is no 3D support. Usually this means that the driver is not installed correctly.
Could you post the output of "fglrxinfo" please?

I fixed problem, Regnum works with Mesa 7.0.1 for ATI 9250
