Prior to upgrading to win10 fall creator, CoR would always start in 144Hz mode. Since the upgrade, CoR will only start at 60Hz...requiring me to manually toggle to 144Hz.
It doesn't matter what settings I play with, nothing works.
Any ideas?

Slowly we see some new issues that Windows 10 FCU has brought. What's happening to you might be related to the upgrade of WDDM to version 2.3. The switch to WDDM 2.3 might have affected and there might be some implementation that needs to be changed on our side as well.
We need to test with that kind of hardware.

On Linux when V-sync enabled it is 60Hz. Otherwise it goes above.
Just curious, why one would even want to eat more CPU/GPU to have unnoticeable by human brain frame rate. 60Hz would be like 16ms, 144Hz would be like 7ms. When ping is usually above 122ms.

to have unnoticeable by human brain frame rate. .
The human eye can't see more than 15 FPS :guitar:
Where do you find the option for 144Hz mode?

I think 60 FPS is just about right value, it's even for trained FPV pilots that can't go below 20ms. 144 FPS would be insane and just waste of resources I think.
There are bigger effects in game than that, for instance ping which can differ by 100ms between players, And that's a lot when to make a difference on 0.5s spell into 0.6s.

I suggest you try 60Hz on a 1440p display and then tell me there is no noticeable difference. From my perspective there is enormous motion blur when panning around at 60Hz.

CoR development is not tracking WDD changes. You can't even manually toggle to a higher refresh rate in the latest Spring update.
