As you already know, I have ATI 9800 Pro under Linux and I'm unable to play this game with full graphics.
The only way I can play it is using safe mode.
I must say that in the beta it worked great with full graphics and you must have changes something that now it's not working properly (heck, you changed a LOT of things, I can't really expect from you to know what exact thing was responsible for it).

Adding the line "dbg_disable_shaders = 1" to the file game.cfg located in live/ folder ,indeed solved my problems at first, but after a few hours it crashed again and crashes since then in normal mode.

So, how can we help you to help us ?
what info do you need ?

1. Buy NVidia Card
2. Wait for better ATI drivers
3. Try Mesa

About 3 there is a topic where we try to run Regnum with Mesa. Until now without success.
The ATI driver for Linux really sucks. I think the problems with Regnum are not the full fault of NGD.
For me Regnum runs fine since the last update.

Whats worth more to you? $100 for a new, much faster graphics card that actually has working drivers and will thusly bennifit you in more tasks then just playing Regnum or beating the dead horse for hours trying to get an old card with bad drivers that barely lets you play Regnum and falls short when playing other current games as well even in windows where it has half decent drivers.

I dunno about you but I think my time is worth a bit more then the cost of a midrange graphics card, Newegg has 7600GT PCIe for $75 after rebate, $110 for the AGP4x/8x version, make sure that you pick the right slot type. Yes theres other acceptable and even better cards, I've posted about it sevral times.

You see, my PC is already old and I've upgraded it several times adding RAM ,HD and videocard (before I knew Linux).
so they next step is to buy a new PC, which I should hold for at least 6 months.
moreover a decent AGP card for my old PC costs about 150-200$ which is a waste for my considering the fact that my current videocard isn't bad at all, it is bad only for a very few games.

If you're buying a new box waiting if you can now seems the best thing to do, with new CPUs from AMD and Intel and rumosr of a november relrease for new 9x00 series cards from nvidia seems to make things pretty interesting, not to say that current gear at the current prices is nothing to sneeze at, just that if you can wait that long go for it for the CPUs at least, for graphics cards get a current card from a company that has a stepup program like eVGA, this will let you get a current card now but let you trade up your card for a newer model should one be released within 90 days of the current release. Tho some companies are good about letting you return cards that you've damaged while modding, such as BFG, they don't care if you want a replacement card for the one that died on you even tho you removed the stock cooling setup for something better.
