Description of events:
Started playing today as usual, after playing with my main char for about an hour or so I logged out and logged back into one of my bank characters (can't use the in-game change char option as it often causes my pc to hang while loading the chars). After I was done doing my business in that bank char I logged back out again to log back into a different bank char. After selecting which character to use and clicking the "play" option the game loaded resources halfway and my PC hanged (similar to my problem when using the in-game char option).

After several reboots, the problem still persists. I tried deleting the liveserver folder and letting the launcher reupdate, it still won't work. Finally, I uninstalled and reinstalled, still no dice. The problem persists no matter which char I choose to load, including the ones that worked just before this problem surfaced.

System Descritpion:
WinXP SP2
Pentium D, 2.66GHz, 1GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6600.

Disclaimer:
I'm hopeless when it comes to technical stuff, but if you need more information about my situation please ask or guide me in how to get these information. Any help that can be rendered is much appreciated.

Do you have any firewall ?
I don't know if it would affect this, but maybe if you have done some update to the firewall and it's now blocking the download of some resource which cause the whole process to hang.

If you have a firewall, you could try disable it and then try the game, if that doesn't work we have to pray that Surak is watching this thread so he can help you, cause then I'm clueless...

You know, we really want to have you in-game again :)

Already tried switching it off. Doesn't work either, besides it used to work ok before. As I already mentioned before, it was working alright in 2 previous sessions before I changed character (no reboot). And I didn't update anything.

I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms now :P
Even my work productiviy has dramatically increased! Give me back procrastination!

Edit: Now my PC will hang as soon as it enters the black loading screen. So it gets stuck at 0 of xxx resources.

I had the same problem about a week or so ago. When you uninstall the program some files still remain in your system. I think they're called configuration files. I had to remove those too. Basically, I went into 'search' in my start menu and did searches on 'NGD' and 'Regnum' and deleted any files that turned up. Then I did a reinstall and it was fine. Dunno if it'll help or not. Worked for me.

Problem seems to have gone away now with the recent update. Hope it lasts!

Sorry for the triple post, but here's an update:

The problem still persists, but I just realized I haven't tried switching from Direct3D to OpenGL yet. Using OpenGL I was able to log in and play, but... Frame rate is very choppy, graphic quality was inferior and after a few minutes of play the game would freeze a lot (not lagging) and become totally unplayable.

However I note that if I log in using OpenGL and then log out and relogging using Direct3D the game would load normally and allow me to play. If I crash or log out I have to log back in using OpenGL again before logging out to log back in using Direct3D. This is just plain weird.

If anyone or NGD knows what's causing this I'd appreciate any feedback at all.
