Okey this problem is REALLY getting on my nerves now.

I run the game in WinXP, SP2. Now this is the weird thing: I *don't* get this problem on my laptop, only on my desktop pc. On my laptop, I had checked "Update all resources at once". It took a lot of time the first time i logged in, as expected, and never updated anything since then. On my desktop (same settings for resources) though, EVERY time I log in, the resources are getting updated. I unchecked the "update at once" option, and it downloads the resources as needed in game, EVERY TIME i log in. I deleted the LiveServer folder, SAME THING. Maybe I should re-install, but I thought I'd post this first before re-installing and having to re-download 300MB or whatever it is that is needed.

Just so you know the entire game (download all resources at once) is almost 800MB. It would be better if you could copy the files from your other computer to reduce the load on the regnum server.

Okey, uninstallation and re-installation seems to have fixed this, for now at least. Bare in mind, it takes a LOT of time to re-download all the resources from a clean install. It's still faster though than waiting to dload them in game EVERY time you log in.

unless there was a content update today, the problem is back. It only worked for 1 login attempt as it seems.

okey im seriously desperate for a solution here, please. :fury::rale::fury::rale:

EDIT: here's the log from this login attempt:

Now it's loading 3776 resources. Takes about half an hour each time, or maybe more? Couldnt really keep track there, as i usually go and do other stuff while it loads.

One of the recent 2 updates seems to have fixed this, I didn't play on my desktop pc due to that bug for quite some time. Thank you NGD :)

Okey bumping this topic up again since the issue has NOT been resolved.

But now I know it's specific for me, it only does that on the windows installation of my desktop. I completely unistalled the game, downloaded the installer from the website yesterday and re-installed. The game loads, updates 1st time launcer and resources, I play, I exit, and then when I launch the game again it starts downloading 4k resources again.

System info:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.21 GHz)
1 GB RAM
Windows XP SP3 (did the same under SP2)
Zone Alarm + Kaspersky Antivirus 6

Software-wise, I have the same configuration on my laptop (WinXP SP3, Zone Alarm + Kasperksy Antivirus 6) and I don't have that problem there.

The game client has full access on the Zone Alarm firewall settings and is on the trusted applications in Kaspersky.

I have tried in the past deleting the LiveServer folder, copying the .idx and .sdb files from the windows installation on my laptop, complete re-install with the old installer, complete re-install with the new installer.

So, any log files you'd like me to post? Any tricks I can try?

This is really odd.
Can you check the log.txt file? Or send it to us?
I can't guarantee a solution to this but I can tell you that we need to research on this further.

I know you don't run linux, but in linux these symptoms can mean 2 things, either that the launcher isn't run in the proper dir (so it downloads the updates to the wrong place, and this is why it keeps redownloading), or you don't have write permission, so the downloads are updated but can't get applied. Maybe it's something similar?

Actually, I do run linux :P I rarely ever boot in win, that's why I bumped this topic after months - I had never noticed it wasnt actually fixed. This thing only happens on the windows installation. Anyway I'll post some log files later on, really have to go now :)

Okey, I booted my win installation again today, and I loaded regnum. As expected, it started downloading resources again. Here's the log.txt file from the LiveServer folder, but it does not have any entries for today.... (22/6/2008)
