...the forums. Sorry, couldn't resist the mock drama of it all. Anyway, to the point...

Trix smiles

Since playing Regnum, I've been amongst a minority of users, we hold out with our minority wishes. Regnum has sadly, for some of us at leat, become a "gamerz" game, this I do accept. To the greater proportion of users it's about hitting level 50 as quickly as possible, using the most powerful equipment regardless of style, resetting your skill tree for PVP, so you can win the most fights, and score the most RP.

I see wonderful other aspects to this game, it's entirely possible they will never happen, as the minority I'm part of, is just that, a minority.

Participating on the forums, and not seeing any evidence of RPG or realm vs realm development, have combined to make me very apathetic about playing at all. I was definitely happier when I was ignorant of the direction of development, and what the masses wanted, and viewed as important.

So I am going to disappear into the loving arms of the company, and see if I can find some renewed love for this game I've invested so much time with, and go back to each patch being a cute surprise, even if only by merit of new monsters and quests or items each time. I'm sure the unavoidable fact I'm a now a level 46 marksman who generally can't be bothered to fight in fort wars, or hunt enemy levellers, since RP is sadly not a stimulating enough concept for me, this fact, will rear it's head at some point, but hopefully I'll get to enjoy the game for a while longer if I stay away from being reminded about that fact on these forums.

For any of you who have the energy and passion to still support either of the primary development threads I started, I wish you the best;

Also if anybody of a less competitive, more RPG orientated mind set wishes to join the ghosts, don't hesitate to contact me. Myself and Mersault are trying to think up some narratives to to play out situations, with goals, and locations, and plots of some kind. I'm not sure how it's going to work yet, but if it does prove to be fun, hopefully it will extend the lifespan of my playing experience for lack of anything else to do when the quests dry up and the war zone still just feels like an over grown death match arena.

On another note, if anybody is forming, or part of an Ignitian English speaking clan, and would like to work together with other clans to make things more fun, check out this link;

Oh. And the most important thing.

With me gone, everyone *must* remember...

To belittle and take the piss out of Val on a constant basis. Is *VERY* important that such a crucial forum responsility doesn't get forgotten about...

Yes, very important.

Syrtis sadly seem to have forgotten this lately and some are so warped they even complement Val... it's disgraceful!!! ;)

Oh bums...with you gone Trix, who will point me to the threads where I need to make fun of Val?

Not that it matters to any of you, but I guess I'll be gone, too. I know some of you like Drah and Angelwinged_Devil from Syrtis days, and it's always awkward to me to see people and know them and for them not to know me.

So, bye bye, good luck, and have fun...

im not so much into roleplaying (im more a gamer), but its not the realmpoints that drive me to fort wars in first place.
If i was only after realmpoints i would constantly hunt.

No, i hate those damn woodelves who expelled us. I cant rest until i drove away the last one of them from our ginormous beaches.
And i enjoy slaughtering goats, too. Rather for a good dinner tought ;)

The realmpoints count as a reward nevertheless. To a good fight where i kill a lot and die few belongs a decent amount of rp.

So i wouldnt say there is NO rpg element that drives people to war.
Of course there should be stronger reasons.
Thats why i honor your suggestions very much. Its just something that needs to be done.

The realms are overhunted and it will get worse as more and more people play.
But NGD has limited ressources, so they cant implement those things short termed.

And they usually do not respond to user suggestions. But i know they read them and they note them down.
They stated this several times and i believe them.

So, dont give up trix!
You are too much fun to quit :)

(and maybe work on your drinking habbits)

Well said!

At first I hated dwarves and goats more but when I saw the cowardice of our pedantic and faceless evil blond haired cousins I knew I had to slay them all!! Hunting goat is for the challenge and dinner ;). And their dwarves masters are so small and cute with their angry faces and beards, running so fast with so tiny legs, I just need to crush them :p.

I'm a level 44 Marksman who just spent his first week in the war zone. I'm an old timer when it comes to fantasy and can still remember my D&D and Runequest days :|

I don't want to get personal (like some name droppers above), but I saw my clan leaders name used a few too many times in this thread. I have received excellent support from my clan, and I enjoy killing enemy players in the wz far more than any role playing...

The role playing I enjoy involves simple chat between a multitude of personalities and the thrill of player rather than AI controlled battles. I don't need to create any items ( go to Planeshift for that ) and the diplomatic room, what a bizarre idea, how many meetings do you have if you intend on killing a few hundred.

Anyway, you guys sound like drama queens. I enjoy the hunt.

Croma you'll find out on the forum that your clan leader has a lot of ennemies. However who cares ? What matters is having fun, so have fun.
