Cannot load character

Hi

I played the game a while back and have recently reinstalled after receiving the christmas promotion. The game has downloaded all the patches and lets me start. It then loads all the resources but just hangs on the game load screen when it gets to the 'trying to locate character' activity. Can anyone help as would liek to have another crack.

this is a common thing at some times when (presumely) the servers do some internal updates/store date/... it happens to all and the only way around is:
stay up to 2h in this screen or go and come back 2h later...

It usually happens during the same 2 hours each day. Usually for me, it takes about 1 hour to load. Then, when you log in, the terrain hasn't loaded...so press change character or exit game and you instantly crash. Then you have to begin the long process of loading resources again.
