The Hidden Council of Ignis

The Ignis Collaboration was a promising idea, but sadly never really brought the clans together to the extent that was hoped for. In light of this I've founded a new group, the Hidden Council of Ignis. I hope it grows into a motivated cooperative effort, and paves the way to more effective actions in the war zone.

The forum can be found at the location listed below, please use your primary character name when registering for ease of recognition between parties on the forum. I will be managing and authenticating registrations, so the forum will be private from random users loading the site. If you have a clan, an area can be set up for you that you can use to have controlled discussions with members of other clans, as a second layer of privacy.

Initially the forum only serves as a place where Ignitian clans can communicate in an organised and secure way. I hope in the future more facilities will be added.

I look forward to hearing from any interested parties.

Upon registration, an email is sent to myself rather than the user. I only authenticate legitimate Ignis user names. Upon being successfully registered the user only has access to the general forums, to be able to view any of the private areas they need to be invited in by the clan leader. I hope that answers your question.

Clearly, since I can't quantify *how* loyal a particular player is precisely, I would simply use my best judgement before inviting them in to the private Company of Ghosts area. As far as the other clan leaders go, it will be entirely be up to their own personal discretion, and I will simply follow their administrative requests.

And I was as disappointed as you, that it didn't gain the momentum one would have hoped for. I just felt it was maybe time for a fresh start. It might not work any better, but I thought I'd give it a try and see.

As well as the invaluable support of the Chosen One's of The Dark, Red Star of the Immortal legends has now joined the coucil. We have also added a new group, the Assassin's Guild. Members of this group will be assassins, or those interested in hiring assassins, with the goal of eliminating targets for a fee. Additionally, we have added an equipment trading area where you can request or offer equipment, and perform mutually beneficial trades with other council members.

I have just set up a section within The Hidden Council called the Hall of Healers. This is a place where members of the Council can hire conjurers to assist them with levelling by means of health and mana regeneration, buffing, etc.

The terms of the hire depends completely on the two parties involved (including length of time and gold to be paid).

Any Ignis conjurers wanting to be accepted into the Hall for hire, please register with the Council and then contact either myself or Trix with your details.

Try getting 2 teams of 3 focus firing in a fort fight. You will mow people down faster than you think.

Yes cross clan coordination is a bold move, but the council also aims to set a social and RPG foundation that is lacking, partially through the various guilds that have now been added, which provide an avenue to trade for services, and assist bringing supporting classes together on a wider scale. We're gonna keep trying to add new ideas, I like to think eventually the more developed networking between players will carry through to improved war zone coordination even without any grand plans. To some extent at least. More detailed war zone coordination can hopefully grow out of this.

A number of new players have joined the forum, including Stn, leader of the Darkside, and a private section for the Dark Side of Ignis has now been added. Arcane Apparition Kuroihitomi has also created the Hall of Healers, which provides the facility to hire healers for an agreed time, very useful when a conjurer friend, or clan conjurer is not available.

Again, all Ignitians are welcome, even those not in clans.

I'd just like to say I'm now entirely overwhelmed by the amount of support the council is getting, thanks! We now have Night Twix on board, and the Settantaddù. I'll be doing some more work on the interactive private groups today.

Also, it looks like we'll soon be inviting Alsiuns and Syrtians to the forum for diplomatic enemy discussions. Once I've checked security is in order I will announce the forum open to all in this respect.

Well, if I were to choose my words more carefully, founder then. Simply as it's useful for administration, and recognising who belongs in their clan, a topic I would be inexpert in.

Yes it is hard to coordinate two clans to work together, but having an organised forum to assist that is better than not having one.

Though the forum is primarily in english, I have no problem with clans of other languages joining, as long as they have an english speaking representative to deal with admin, as I know very little Spanish. In the company we have members who can speak in both languages, as well as a number of other languages.

I can't pick it up on a forum search, it's not an Ignis user name, and since we're gonna be accepting from all three realms soon I can't be messing around with anonymous users. Okay, got alot of replies to catch up on but will stop to explain as best as I can. Due to the fact it sometimes takes an amount of time to validate a registration, which clan, which realm even, a player is from, leaving only the administration section open by default keeps everyone's private talks secure.

To join a group you only have to pm the primary contact.

Also, if you we're added to all groups by default, you'd have alot of scrolling to do, trust me, since I'm the principle administrator, this forum is going to get very big, very fast it seems. So by allowing each member to specify what they are interested in we all have tidy custom views tailored to our needs.

On a more subtle note, some players do not get on with other players, that's a harsh reality. The design allows clans and groups to include or exclude whoever they want, thus allowing private talks between cooperative parties, whereas if the groups were entirely open people simply wouldn't use the forums for privacy and trust reasons.

Theoretically we could reach a point where all players are members of all of the groups, but again, the structured invitation design allows us to reach that goal step by step, allowing people time to get to know and trust each other.

We have the test run of the chambers of diplomacy up and running, several new clans and several new groups. Thanks to Edge for all the recent input and promotion to, it's really appreciated. I'll hopefully be adding some more new areas and updating the information for the existing ones tomorrow.

21 members posted so far out of 43 registrations, maybe 39 or 40 of those are active accounts. That's over 50/50...

I've done admin for alot of forums now, I won't mention the ones that fell *well* below that level of success, for the sake of politeness. This is what's known as a good proportion as far as these things go sugr.

and it's not ok to post like that even though you are different sides in game, out here you are probably on the same side concerning peace, helping the poor etc. All those big topics.

Close the thread, it's dealt with, though a significant rebuild will be underway on top of things before we start moving again.

Also the approach regarding diplomacy will be greatly revised, given the time and energy people have contributed to this project it's a shame so much has now been wasted with mind games and oh so typical forum flame wars. The admission policy for all members will be much tighter, so those of an obviously immature or uncooperative nature will be excluded from the outset.

I am glad I attempted an open community with a relatively free flow of information. But regardless of the specifics of the problem Anpu abused, it does show that I was overly optimistic of peoples natures. Life is a constant learning experience. Just because you try and do something positive doesn't mean it, or the people that help make it, will be respected.

I'm in no doubt a good number of members have now lost faith in the project, but I also know a good number are now twice as eager to make it work, for those that stay and assist me I am forever grateful.

I thought sticking to the inn area, and only trying to start constructive and fun posts would save me from the horrors of the main forum. It seems that was overly optimistic. Some people seem to like dragging others on here to argue, more than the game itself it seems.

On that note I take my leave for the second time. And wish those rare souls who would like to further this community, rather than tearing it to pieces with infighting, the very best.

So far, I reported bug on that forum via post which has some not important info but points that i can read where I should not. It was smthg like: grats for success of bounty on Tom Bomardil, hope u wont make success on Emma from syrtis, etc, and at the end I quoted one ignean: Ignis suck at war.

After that account deleted, no interests about how that happened, that i can read. After that, post that everything is good in the hood by trix.

But some ppl like their ego and decided not to find out security bug but blame their own realm mates.

As u can see, your forum is not secure when one wood elf can read ignis part of forum. So Ignis, your info there is not secure, and forum is not a lot worth even registering. From 30+ members, they have about 5-7 active ppl, talking about how they suck at PB, what are critical areas in wz in ignis, of course, socializing, sharing setups....

Forgot to add, got to agree with Twix, better pick Mumble than TS server, sound is better and works when music/RO is on. There is one little problem when starting regnum first and after that mumble, it can be fixed with few commands.

What I would do if i m leader of some project: some1 posted that he found security bug. i would try to contact him, make a deal, talk etc, all in borders of acceptable. And would try it first via pm and if he agrees, i would silently work on problem and fix it. But hun u get it personally, so dont talk me about complex.
