Try this:

-Delete your cookies. No, no the ones that you can find in the kitchen, I'm talking about the browser. :P

-Mark all posts as read.

-Suscribe to all posts, but watch for the updates just in the control panel. That way you won't have any problems. To change your settings, go to the control panel, then to Edit Options and select "Watch for updates in the control panel" or something like that.

That should work :P

OK this is getting really irritating - i cannot read new posts in the forums.

When i go into "new posts" i see a message saying "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts."

But when i click on one i go to the last post i read and can't see the new ones.

Maybe i've clicked something i shouldn't have which is stopping the threads updating.

Suggestions please...

I am still getting this problem - but now it's worse.

Threads often don't update for me.

The way i used to read the latest posts was to use the 'new posts' list.

But now when i click this it says the following: "this forum requires that you wait at least 5 seconds before starting a new search. try again in 2 seconds."

It doesn't matter how much i wait it says the same.

So now when the threads are not updating i have no way to see new posts.

Waiting a few hours is the only way.

What I do is enter a forum, read the posts I want to read, when I'm done hit the "forum tools" button, then "mark forum as read"; if you instead read all the unread topics in a forum then for me at least, I have to reload (otherwise the forum doesn't know I've read all topics), then I go back and hit reload, and the icon will not be orange anymore (:

The more I think about it, the more I think it has something to do with spyware or something thats messing with your browser.

Try downloading spybot search and destroy and check for problems.

Download it from here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Its just a theory but maybe that will help you or check if you have any issues.

Thanks for this.

If i have the problem you describe I wonder if it is causing my internet generally to be so slow?

Too often the simplest downloads take a long time and i know it is affecting how i play the game too.
