Hi, i've downloaded regnum online today, and i could'nt play, it says my VGA isn't supported by the game.

in the supported VGAs list, i could find it on the list, i've checked my configuration (i'm using intel xorg driver, instead of i815), glxgears is working (+1000 FPS), and there's no missing libraries (i've checked with ldd) everything seems to be fine.

What should i do? since i'm using an laptop, i can't use another VGA.

Gaming in linux is best done with an nvidia chip, it can be done with ati chip aswell but with worse performance. You will not be able to play regnum with the intel chip in linux.

Yeah, he can... But the quality and performance would be really bad. Try running driconf. Maybe you would like to read this threads:

It has the same problem as you. Unfortunately, my next laptop (one month and I may be back) uses the same Intel chipset as yours.

Pardon, yes, I should have said this instead:

With the correct config you will be able to log in, realize what a huge mistake you made, then log out again.

it works after enabling the S3TC texture compression, it would be interesting to put this on FAQ, or wiki.

thanks!

Have anybody tried this on intel grafic chips??

http://homepage.hispeed.ch/rscheidegger/dri_experimental/s3tc_index.html

i've use a old ati radeon 9200 and tried the driconf and "s3tc fix"
to make the game install/run, but with grafic errors(like most people)..

I then downloaded the libtxc_dxtn070518.tar.gz file from link above, and
disabled the "s3tc fix" in driconf. Then installed mesa-common-dev and build-essential with apt-get. Extracted files from libtxc_dxtn070518.tar.gz and did a "make" and "sudo make install" in the libtxc_dxtn* folder. Started the game and it looks ok now.. :thumb:

I tryed it, the result is the same as allways: "Got SIGSEGV (segmentation fault)". Intel i945GM in a HP laptop. The game working with wine, but that eats too much CPU power and mem.
