Xfire is an IM application allowing you to talk with your friends even while playing a game. It counts the time your playing also. And also has a voice chat. And group chat. Very easy and simple to use. Lets put all our xfires here so we can add eachother :D. Also put ur realm and ur name ;).

Don't know - never tried - I just use IRC through pidgin. If I really wanted to talk with a group I'd use mumble...

Sorry bout digging an old topic, but I was supposed to write one about it. Anyway, I thought that it would be great, if our community show up on Xfire more active (I've made a little research and it looks like that there are only a few people using Xfire nowadays).
I think that most of us knows what Xfire is, although anyone can read about it on www.xfire.com
Linux users (I'm one of them) can use a Gfire (http://gfireproject.org/) (Pidgin IM plugin) that allows us to use our Xfire account (there are no things like screen or video capture, but it's enough to use it as IM and game stats).
Benefits of using Xfire/Gfire
Well, if most of us will be using Xfire/Gfire, RO will goes up in Xfire games ranking. In this way more people will be able to find RO and join our community. We could also stay in touch thanks to Xfire/Gfire IM, not only inside of our realm. Clans would be also allow to make their own clan community site on the Xfire.com to manage all players etc.
Should I share this idea?
Of course you do  It's free, it's fun, it could be very useful.

Unfortunately xfire doesn't work with regnum any more on vista/7. ;P

Hmm, doesn't this depend on Xfire game's settings? Sounds weird since RO has a great support in Gfire on linux.

Xfire still thinks regnum uses ROClientGame.exe, but in fact it's ROClientGameEX.exe now (for vista/7), hence no xfire ingame or game hours.
You can however adjust xfire_games.ini and change ROClientGame.exe to ROClientGameEX.exe, but you'll have to do that after every xfire update. And there's still no xfire ingame visible, some other values need to be adjusted, too, but I don't know which ones. :S

Sounds bad for vista/7 users. Anyone post that information to Xfire support team? I think they could do something with that. Or in the other hand, vista/7 users can always use a Pidgin with Gfire plugin

It might be possible to create a symbolic link from ROClientGame.exe to ROClientGameEX.exe - that might fool xfire. (Untested - I don't have xfire.)

Dunno if there is something like symbolic links in windows  Anyway, Xfire probably searches game via process list, so running game still would be ROClientGameEX.exe

mklink should exist for vista and win7 afaik, but wikipedia says you're right about searching running processes, so yeah, links are a fail.
