Hello

I have just installed Xgl on my Ubuntu, but after that I can't play Regnum Online.

When I try to start it, I have the message on console:

Xlib: extension "XFree86-VidModeExtension" missing on display ":0.0".

The "game" process is still running, but I can't kill it, even using killall -9. What's wrong?

it seems that the update has made a change in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

check the "Module" section if

Load "extmod"

is there, if not add it

you can also see in /var/log/Xorg.0.log if it is enabled on your running xserver

(II) Loading extension XFree86-VidModeExtension

should appear in the log file

To run Regnum on the spinning cube :), the only configuration we've found is with the latest NVIDIA drivers, using AIGLX (not XGL). (This is included in the latest Xorg release).

We never managed to run it on XGL.

simple enter:

DISPLAY=:0 ./rolaucher

in game directory, it will make another session with full 3D acceleration... faster tham gnome session running.
