Sorry if this is in the wrong place or anything.

I found this game today and registered but then noticed that the linux client download isn't currently available.

[New installer is being uploaded/tested]

Is the client actually taking this long to upload? Its been several hours now and no change or is it in a testing phase? Does anyone know roughly how long before the linux client is available again?

Any info appreciated :) Thanks in advance.

Did you use the torrent installer? It takes a while, but never more than 3 hours.

This game is in active (VERY active) development and so the patches are big.

Are you running the updater behind a firewall or a NAT?

Here you have the OFFICIAL torrent files:

Thank you for the links, I was talking about the official download page on the website they have no links at all for the linux client right now.

Is the only method of downloading the client through a torrent?

You're welcome :)

Those are the torrents the Linux admin (Surak) posted in the Spanish forum. The client isn't 100% tested and supported, so I think that's why he didn't post the links here. Those are the only torrents for the game AFAIK.

You can try with the old installer, but the game changed a lot since that installer was updated. I highly recommend you using the torrent files because the installer is more up-to-date and you have the resources database (with the textures, meshes and stuff) in the same file.

You're welcome (again) :hat:

Now that's strange. The torrent should be working. I'll give it a try, and if it doesn't work I'll file it as a bug.

Thanks :)

It may be me though, i know I have had trouble using p2p software and torrents before due to my connection. I usually try to avoid using torrents where possible. Thanks in advance for testing it:)

I downloaded a new torrent client called Deluge bittorrent client and that didnt work either. I did get an error though- time/type/text 00:00:00 Activity connecting to peers

I use ubuntu 7.10 and bitTorrent gave that error under events. Hopefully this info helps.

If you have an ftpd someone could upload the file for you, alternatively I'm sure someone could host the file temporarily for you too. Would be nice if we had official md5sums from NGD on the files to verify their integrity though (:

I have left the torrent running for about 15 hours now and its downloaded 1.5mb so I don't think its going to work for me that way.

I had sent an email to tech support yesterday and received a reply today saying I would be emailed with a link once the official client was available.

Thanks for the support but unless the client is hosted on some file host or something I think ill have to wait for the client to be put up on the official download page again.

@Frost- not really sure what ftpd stands for but I tried wiki and I'm pretty sure i don't have one^^

hey, here is an altarnate way :P

download the rolauncher from here (for 32 bits):

http://rapidshare.com/files/119556140/rolauncher.zip.html

download the databases from those links:

http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showpost.php?p=408780&postcount=20

You have to join data1.db.0, data1.db.1, data1.db.2, data1.db.3 with hacha (first link of those). Run hacha with wine.

And... thats all!! put all files in the folder that u want to be the base of the game.

Thanks for the alternative.

I started downloading now (with a little help from google translator) hopefully this method will work out.

EDIT: It seems the direct download is back up on the site and Ive started downloading that. :) I was half way through getting the files off of rapidshare but now no more cats :D

Thanks to all who replied to my post. Hopefully this download will work for me.

Yes, indeed.

We just put the new installer, which unlike the previous one, has all the files the game needs.

Of course, the game might need to autopatch but it will be a few megabytes. From now on, we'll try to have a new installer every couple of months, for both Windows and Linux.
