From the past, Lag and crash didn't bother me much. 3 weeks ago, I log in, and in a few minutes, I freeze. Nothing to do but reboot. This problem keeps repeating from 2 minutes to 10 minutes. I was advised to shut down any anti-virus program running; I always shut down every program running including messenger and everything else (I like playing Regnum without the disturbance of the outside world). So I took the initiative to delete Regnum and re-installed using the new installer. 1 week has passed and my problem got worse. I sometimes recieve some graphical errors. I got to fix it by switching back and forth to windowed mode. So that problem may not bother me much. But the freezing is still happening more often than before. And now everytime I freeze, I get a black screen with only the regnum cursor visible.

I am not particularly educated much in computers. But this are a couple that I know if it helps:

Windows XP
AMD Anthlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+
2.11 GHZ
2.00 GB RAM

I often switch characters for banks and also switch from full screen to windowed mode if incase I need to check HQ. But I suspect that is irrelevant since my problems happen whether or whether not; I do this.

Please help me.

Get the latest drivers for you graphics card. Not likely to help much, but worth the shot.

They said somewhere in these forums that the latest RO patch introduced a lot of new graphics bugs, I guess you'll have to wait until the next update. Till then, try and play the game on safe mode or switching between DirectX/OpenGL or something, maybe that will help...

Switching to GL worked. Thank you. Thank you very much.
