View Full Version : Regnum freezes on boot.

I've installed Regnum successfully on several windows machines, yet when installing it to several Linux machines (such as Ubuntu) the boot screen freezes up, showing loading... (right before accepting the terms). The Accept button is faded, and I can only click cancel. It remains on this screen forever, and I must close it only to try the process again and fail.
Has this problem occurred before, and if so, is there a solution?
Thank you for your kind assistance,
Matt

Are you running a firewall? Because it sure looks like it's being blocked. You might want to check the permissions on the regnum dir, to make sure you can write to it, I don't know if wrong perms would result in this error, but might aswell check (:

ty for the quick response. I checked the firewall status, and it was inactive. I then changed the permissions of the folder, and still received the same problem. Any other thoughts?
Thanks again for your time,
Matt

You could try starting the rolauncher from a terminal, see if it gives some sort of error message (cd to the regnum dir, then type ./rolauncher )

Type in a terminal: iptables -L
to make absolutely sure there isn't something blocking it, in the way.
EDIT: You could also join the irc channel, it's easier to do troubleshooting in realtime than having to wait between forum posts (:

Are you sure that you are running the Linux version? I see Windows files on your desktop.
Anyway, come visit us on IRC and ask there instead. :)
