I'm afraid this isn't technically possible - there is a cap on damage reduction so that at least 10% always gets through.
This person either had Mana pylon or was exploiting a bug, but no setup can do this.

Was there anyone else involved in the fight, specifically mages?

What I wonder about is why only ensnarre arrow has 0 dmg while the normal hit has quite much damage.

When there was no mana pylon around I dunno why you did only 0 dmg

I think it was retaliation level 5

is retaliation actually working?

I tested it on mobs and it seems to have no effect. But it was a while ago when I did the test.

However, I thought retaliation is doing this:

"Part of the damage received in the next enemy impact is returned to the attacker."

But I cannot see the damage returned to you.

All I know is I saw the retaliation animation before he killed me like that (twice in 10 minutes).

retaliation can return 100% of the damage on lvl 5, and he has lvl 19 tricks as you can see from lvl 5 stunning fist.

But why does it not work on mobs, I just were on test server and i saw no result from it when a mob hit me. Neither the mob hit me for less dmg nor I hurt the mob with it.

and yes.. it returns 100% at lvl 5
BUT
It only reflects skills.. not basic attacks...
It will reflect skills for 15 seconds (IF) you dont use a basic attack
Basic attacks cancel the skill completely
<in the past it only reflected basic attacks, and was canceled as soon as you were attacked hit or evaded..>
p.s. it works against dragon skills as well ;) think hard and you can kill the dragons faster ;)

Well TBH this is probably the clearest explanation I've seen about what the spell is actually supposed to do. *cough*
Because of everyone being confused over its behavior, I dropped it from my setup like half a year ago.

In light of this new information however I might pick it back up again. :)

When i was helping to kill tenax, i used this.. makes no sense to me that people DONT KNOW this skill... ive used it for quite a while now... lol and my hunters lvl 40.. i used it to kill a lvl 50 warlock in arena at lvl 36, lvl 50 hunter in wz at lvl 39..

One word of warning though, using it on tenax (or ur realms dragon) will cause u to get very little xp from it.
