Hello i was just wondering if or will there be support for ATI Radeon X2300 Mobility card, or is it to old to play Regnum.

I looked at the graphics card and they had X1*** series so i was curious why not the X2*** as it sounds like X2*** would be newer as its higher in the number.

I don't know specifics about ati model names, but I do know they're like nvidia in that the performance of the card has very little to do with the numbering scheme, a higher numbered card can contain worse hardware, to bring the price down.

I've been able to run Regnum fine after a little bit of tweaking. Thing is, now it's telling me my card/drivers are too old again.

I'm going to go to ATI's website: http://www.amd.com/us-en/
and install the latest drivers. The repositories for Ubuntu are usually a little slow on these drivers, so it's best to get it from the website rather than through aptitude or apt-get

Make sure you know exactly what you got by typing
lspci
in a terminal. You should find "VGA compatible controller" easily enough.

If installing the latest driver's doesn't work, just wait until the next update to the game engine. That's what I had to do last time.

Heh i kind of just want to know if its supported, because if its not I wont even want to download Regnum, but if it is i want to start playing it.

Do any of the delevopers come onto this forum, or anyone who might know ?

Interesting, since the chips should be abl to handle it http://ati.amd.com/products/mobilityradeonx2300/specs.html ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 is the successor of ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 for notebooks. Technically it is just a renamed X1350 and therefore also only supports directX 9. Also the gaming performance is compareable to the X1350, which was the bootom of the line for the r520 series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R520, so the most recent ATI drivers should work, what would be more interesting is if the current beta open source drivers will work for it or not http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showthread.php?t=24830 they're improving quickly from what I've ben reading, and already have basic support fot the just released R700 line of GPUs the HD4850 and HD4870.
