since the update, i can't seem to get the game working.

the bin file rolauncher works fine, i can log in, fiddle with options, select a server, etc but when it comes time to launching the bin file "game" what happens...is nothing visual lol.. seems like it just doesn't start.

running back trace shows that it can't access libtheora.so in libs folder

if i remeber correctly i had to manually put that file in because it wasn't included. so i deleted the whole game, and reinstalled it annnddd.. the game works. but then it updates itself and restarts and i relog in and now...same as above. game fails to launch due to libtheora problems.
but the weird thing is that the new patch seems to include it's own libtheora.so ..since i didn't re-copy it to the new folder after fresh install.

both my version of libtheora.so (0.3.2) and the game's version (dono how to check...) don't seem to work..

the weird thing though.. is that i just deleted the file and launched to game to see if it'll redownload it .....and it didn't. but the game launched and is playable.. ha wtf?

but as soon as i exit and restart the program. it's back to the start.. to where it says it can not load libtheora.so all over again

I have same problem: I can run rolauncher, type user/pass and after that nothing appears, no server choose window (game). System is fully updated.
Sorry fof asking, but this is correct way of backtracing? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace
I used it and got errors I think only on 2 "threads". No mention of that lib. Kubuntu 8.04.

Did you find some way of working around this problem, Anpu?
Because a friend of mine has the exact same problem on kubuntu 8.04...

I was able to play by setting SELinux to permissive mode in CEntOS 5. In ubuntu you may need to disable apparmour (similar to SELinux), I'm not sure if you can set it to "permissive" mode.

Open a terminal and "cd" into the directory where you downloaded the rolauncher file.
Example:
cd /home/Znurre/Games/Regnum Now you need to make the file executable.
This is easily done with this command:
chmod +x ./rolauncher Now you should be able to run the file by double clicking on it/running it using the terminal.
Example:
./rolauncher

If you still can't start the game and you get error outputs in the terminal when running the command, please parse them into here and I will try to help you.

PS. All of these steps can be performed using the GUI too, but since you did not provide your Desktop Enviroment/Window Manager I choosed a secure method.
