I wonder how long it takes until there is no well know forum member left that wasn't banned at any time. I thought this when I saw blood beeing banned. I just hope I am not next, lol

However, I realy think that the forums are quite good moderated at all since gamemod/Kailer is around. Of course it happens that some people feel mismoderated but I can imagine that it is a hard job to take care about the forums. I believe Kailer is doing what he thinks is right and is best for NGD and the community.

I believe that too, only I don't think what he thinks is right and best /is/ right and best.
As a matter of fact, before he was a moderator, Kailer was himself banned from the forum for some time. Maybe he should consider if it was appropriate, I had a discussion with him at the time and he certainly didn't feel it was right. Does he think banning Blood over some pitiful argument (I know both Tak & Blood and they're not the kind to get hurt by a few words) does less harm than not banning him?

Wait, you're not well-known unless you've been banned?

Dammit, who do I have to insult around here to do that?

Some players have continually flamed people even after Kailer's repeated warnings and numerous post deletes. Maybe now they'll get the hint.

Maybe not. Time will tell.

I think Kailer's doing a great job. Being a moderator is not an easy job.

Yeah its frustrating, you can't look anywhere on the forums now without seeing an argument about the tiniest thing. Most of the spamming seems to have died out aswell, id say this forum is a lifeless hellhole

You only say that because you dislike Blood. You call flame the slightest show of disagreement with you. If you had been banned (and God knows you deserve it more than Blood), you wouldn't have the same attitude here... What may sound as rude is often just the simple fact that English is not his native tongue and he tries to convey his message the way he can. It often comes out as aggressive but it's not; it's badly translated Spanish dry humor.

On being a moderator not being an easy job, I hope it is a form of your dry humor ;). First, I think it's only a side-job and Kailer does other stuff for NGD, and he read all posts before being moderator anyway. Now he's paid for it, that's the difference, and now he can take action.

I think the forum improved in the sense that misplaced threads are now moved to the proper subforum and spam is removed from threads about the game. But as much as I like the guy, I must say I don't agree with his decisions. He has a way of following the rules blindly, of applying political-correctness to the line. "There are rules, and I will make you respect them! Absolute Justice!" (manga style).

The truth is Blood has been a very helpful contributor to both sides of the forum (Spanish and English) and that there's no way in Hell he deserved a ban, would it be for only 10 minutes. He makes an effort, is polite (even if sometimes he misuses some rude words, it's not intentional -- for instance he may say "you suck" for a lack of knowing how to say it better, he learnt English from video games and manga scanlations, there are better sources of proper English ;p) and most of all his posts are good contributions.

Kailer issued many warnings and deleted many inflammatory posts/flames before he banned anybody.

No ban yet.
Meh, it's just a matter of time, I guess.

Moderators always get a lot of opposition. A fact is that when they delete posts it's hard to verify whether the ban was deserved or not.
It's obvious BlooD broke some rules(or one, I don't know) and if you agree with those or not, a fact is that if you are in someone else's house you stick with their rules. Why wouldn't you at a forum?

yeah he mentioned he was banned. He kinda snapped after deleting his posts, I guess two weeks and it's over :)

I have seen people behave lots worse than Blood, and I thought "why the hell ain't he/she getting banned?".
I even saw people insulting other with no ban as solution.

Blood is a really nice guy, one of those I respect most in-game and on the forums.
His answers are mostly on-topic and his posts makes sense unlike many others that didn't either get banned once.

I agree with everything magnet said, and I hope he will be back to the forums soon.

The banning of people who are helpful and stay on topic in these forums will only succeed in making a rift between NGD and the Regnum Online community

Valorius

Did you see the thread in question? It was hardly on topic, and was an out and out flame fest. There was a half page of back and forth insults and flames. This after several warnings had already been issued.

So what is Kailer supposed to do when his authority is undermined and his warnings ignored?

Hi Community,

I will only state four points:

- Blood and Valorius were privately warned about the way they were posting.

- I was banned when I was a user because MegriM changed some rules in the Development forum and right away someone reported a post that was made by me 4 months before the rule. MegriM accepted his mistake and unbanned me.

- I give a lot of opportunities, then I send a PM, then I ban.

- Do you really report every bad behavior? Are you on favor of insult-filled posts?

Regards,

Another thing im guessing that could give you a ban is for saying something like this

I just do my work, and I don't say I do it perfectly... I must improve.

Remember that the forum isn't my highest priority. I have a lot of other tasks to do. I am open for every comment regarding my activity as a moderator or Community Manager, but I rarely see constructive comments. I always encouraged you (even in my first post as Community Manager) to chat with me about this issues.

Actually, I personally think you do a pretty good job as Community Manager, both NGD and us the end users are lucky to have you

Is this where I can report bad behavior??

Here are two incidents both involving Inkster....

1. He stood too close to my orc and I saw him touch the orc inappropriately
2. He is always killing people before I can get to them

I am in a state of depression because of these two incidents and action must be taken immediately!!

On a serious note, Kailer does an outstanding job and I think it's a WICKED pain to moderate....especially moderating you all :D

I wanna report inkster too, one time when the mobs were really aggro, I had 20 cyclops follow me, I went to the beach trying to get help but ink ivied me and laughed as the cyclops killed me and gave me necro >_<

edit: I can only agree with what is said in this thread about kailer, he's doing his job, not always the best but it's nice to have him here.

There is a difference between using slang, making fun of someone, and insulting someone outright. I never saw Blood insulting anyone.

me neither, but he's not english speaking either, although he did use the phrase "talking shit" often though, I don't know if that counts

You can insult by not using insults, did you know? :)

There is nothing more to talk about here. Rules are to be complied, so if someone does a personal attack after a moderator's warning, there's nothing else to do but punish.
