You just got your resources, Regnum! Now what do you want?!

Okay, I've been having some issues downloading resources in Regnum.

I have a clean install of Regnum. I logged in with my old account fine, and went into the Ra server with no problems.

I get to the Character Select screen, see my player, and click 'Play'. It says: "Loading language resources, can't start game now". Okay, at the top left of the screen it says "Downloading: [Progress Bar at 99%]" with the Kb/s changing a lot, so I know it's downloading something. Hover over with mouse, it is downloading resources #60900, 60901, 60902, 90905, 90906, 60907, 60909, and 51820. They keep on going up to 100%, then restarting again. Wtf?

I press Alt+I and Alt+P.

FPS: 42-997
CPU: 4-100%
Polys: 862
Pos, 0,0,0
Net TCP U: # B/s, D: # B/s (B/s fluctuating)
Net UDP U: 0 B/s, D: 0 B/s (and staying like that)

Inet ping: 800 ms, avg: 1121
Server ping: 1045 ms, avg: 1842 (i know i have high lag, but this shouldn't have anything to do with downloading)

Alt+I, Alt+P off.

Ctrl+L on. This is what I get:

A LOT (entire page and much more) of: "http_retriever(382): Error downloading resource #####. Retrying."

So I think this is my issue. (Replace ##### with the ones listed above)

My System:
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ OC'd 3.0 GHz
MB - MSI P6N Diamond (nVidia nForce 680i)
GPU - XFX nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB
RAM - 4 GB Mushkin - 800 MHz
OS - (1) Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 (Running Regnum), (2) Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.2 (Yes, I have a Hackintosh), (3) openSUSE 11.0 64-bit

Try to disable your firewall and see if it download the resource successfully.

If not, try and delete all the data files in the regnum online directory and log in again.

It should download all the resources directly from the server, and hopefully fix your problem.

Okay, I never use a firewall. NOD32 is all I need for Windows :)

I will try the delete and restart. (Though my ISP reports it downloaded 405 MB every time I leave it running which is ridiculous! :looking: )

No, there seems (well, at least for me it's evident) that there is some kind of issue with game resources. Even if you check the option "Update all new resources at once" the game will constantly keep downloading and downloading resources (in war, when chars approach, while grinding, etc.), as if that option was not working at all.

I hope this will get fixed for next version (though i doubt it)...
