"Scientists get death threats over Large Hadron Collider"

Enjoy!
Edit: Prof Brian Cox of Manchester University states, "Anyone who thinks the LHC will destroy the world is a twat."
LOL! A learned person uses the word twat, imagine that!

Heh to be honest, I am not so sure whether it's for studying universe's birth or for new weapon

I don't things it can be used as a weapon... Unless you tak a whole city inside it and then turn it on XD.
It's just an experiment in a very dificult to recreate enviroment. Idiots that have too much free time and watched too much star trek seem to think this is gonna create a black hole... accordung to them everything creates a black hole!

Actually beliving in it is like beliving back then that there were really witches, years from now this talk of black holes will be looked upon the same way we look at witchhunts now, meaning a laugh

The problem with all the resulting technologies from these experiments is that they can't be used as effective weapons... It's too expensive and nuclear weapons work fine. Even EMP's and Chemical weapons are cheaper, and you can get better results!
LHC could spawn a new era in research and development technologies. Quantum physics could finally get a proper demonstration (bye, shördinger's cat)!
Black holes can be created, but you would need much more energy than the LHC can provide.
I think this experiment is worth risking the Earth. Either we live in a new Medieval Obscurantism or we take a step towards enlightenment.
