I cant see anything

Hey everybody i just started up with this game and i've been a full time linux user for the past three months, im on Ubuntu Hardy

Well i found a few posts about what i can tell are the well known issues like the lines bug that i was able to fix already. I have an nvidia and i've installed the newest driver (i have it totally working now..tho) and disabled compiz as well

and this is what i get:

Have anybody else gone through this bug?

I think it has something to do with this other thing

I dont think that "noise" behind those characters is normal at all... can anybody advise me on this?

Hi cepe6po,

You must wait until all downloads are complete and then restart the game to load the new resources. If you have a very slow connection, such as dial-up 56K, this could take quite a long time.

Another option to try is to enable the "Update all resources at once" option in the loader.

Also, you should post your pictures as attachments as to not break the forum layout.

On second picture thats just information that new players should see. It s part of realm balance. Since Alsius population is low, they receive bonus in xp and gold.

About download resources at once, Surak told me in one thread they are not sure if that is really working like it should, so to disable it.

Also, since you are using Hardy: if you have a NVIDIA card, and haven't installed a more recent driver than the one in the repos, you might have some graphic glitches (such as white stripes on certain textures). But Intrepid Ibex is coming in a few weeks, so if you plan to upgrade you perhaps do not need to mess with the installation of a more recent driver right now.
