I'm having trouble with the latest update. The rolauncher crashes when I try to enter a server. Starting it from a console, I get:

I'm running Gentoo Linux, all related packages stable and recently updated. This means gcc-4.1.2 and glibc-2.6.1. And I surely haven't changed anything between the old version and the update.

The new client is built against glibc-2.7 with gcc 4.3 :/ (It seems this is causing some problems)

Ok, I'll try again with gcc-4.3.1 and glibc-2.7. I'll keep you informed if it works then.

same problem here, also Gentoo, gcc-4.1.2 and glibc-2.6.1, are you considering a new build?

I am... Let me analyze this for a moment :angel2:

Well, updating seems to do the trick, at least I can log in now (downloading resources really slowly at the moment :(, but that's more than before).

So for Gentoo this would help:
echo "=sys-devel/gcc-4.3.1-r1" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
echo "=sys-libs/glibc-2.7-r2" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge glibc gcc -avu1

I you want to run "unstable" packages is up to you. I can't tell yet if there are other problems introduced with this.

@Surak: If there are problems with other distribution, you should really consider another build. If it's only Gentoo, which is kind of rare, it might not be worth it. But you should put a note somewhere.

There are reports about the same problem on debian etch & ubuntu 7.x (and that's baaaad)

its ok in slackware 12.1 (gcc 4.2.3)

Then this screams for a new build. I think you shouldn't expect everyone to be up too the bleeding edge.

BTW, I'm in game now, so what I posted earlier really works.

It was a problem about some code not being correctly built with gcc 4.1 - but of course it was my fault as I have just confirmed :P - A fixed version will be uploaded asap.

End of transmission (?)

I suggest you to make a Sticky thread about this problem. I won't add it to the list of known problems since you're working on it.

Sure. Just thinking your signature is kinda funny in this context :p
