Hiya,
I've installed the linux native client and can start the game up, create a character and so on. When I load into the initiation island however, I get the whole interface(menus, map, inventory etc.) but the area where my character and the world should be is completely black. I can interact with the game and hear noises/my minimap turn as I move, but all else is black.
I'm using debian etch with native nvidia drivers and the options in the game correctly identify my card as the Go7000 series.
Any ideas on making it work?
Thanks :)

Hit the "o" key when you get in, to bring up the options window, in the video tab try messing about with the texture options and the post processing option.
If that doesn't work, when you start the launcher, go into the options for the launcher and set all the sliders to the lowest, it's one of those sliders that will case you to see black when you log in, but I don't remember which one (I play with all settings on the lowest anyway). I seem to recall messing about with the ingame options would 'un-black' the screen, but your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the suggestion :) I'll give it a go once my system is running properly again. When trying to update my nvidia drivers, I completely broke my graphical system so now I am stuck with vesa or nv drivers ¬.¬ Don't even know how to roll back to the original drivers lol. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I use debian too (always testing for me though), I use the driver package from nvidia.com (which does present itself some problems whenever you update the package libgl1-mesa-drv which overwrites the symlink to the nvidia driver, but that's another story), just make sure you have the linux-headers- package for the kernel you're using (uname -a will tell you), download the driver from nvidia.com and then execute it (sh NVIDIA-stuff.run), you might need to export CC=gcc-4.1 before you do that though, run the installer first and if it complains about the wrong compiler version, do the export command.
