Taken from an article in a French Newspaper: (please take a note I am translating from polish)
"Poland. This is a country full of absurd. A country where every fifth citizen lost his life during World War Second, where 1/5 of nation lives in other countries and where one on three people has 20 years. A country that has twice as much students than France, and engineer's salary is lower than road worker's. A country, where average citizen spends twice the salary he's paid, where average salary doesn't exceed price (!) of three pairs of good shoes, where we are said there is no poverty and foreign capital is invested every day. A country, in which a price of a car is equivalent to three year salary, yet still you can't find a place to park a car. A country ruled by former socialists, where christian festivals are days free of work (!)
A weird country, where you can talk in english with a steward, in french with a cook, in german with a shop seller, but to talk with a minister or official you have to find a translator.

Poles..! How do you do that?"

Damn, they are right ;(

i would only add that Poles want to have taxes like on Cyprus and health care like in Sweden. Instead of that we have Taxes like in Sweden and health care like in Cyprus.

And that is best :D We just have better sense of humor thnx to that :D

Hahahaha, you're kidding, right? We're worse than that :P

Interestingly enough, I find this article to describe pretty well how living in Buenos Aires is.

Let me change some things and you'll see what I mean:

"Argentina. This is a country full of absurd. A country where every fifth citizen lost his life during the 2001 stock market crisis, where 1/5 of nation lives in other countries and where one on three people has 20 years. A country that has twice as much lawyers than France, and engineer's salary is lower than road worker's. A country, where average citizen spends three times the salary he's paid, where average salary doesn't exceed price (!) of two pairs of good shoes, where we are said there is no poverty and foreign capital is not invested every day. A country, in which a price of a car is equivalent to three year salary, yet still you can't find a place to park a car. A country ruled by former socialists, where christian festivals are days free of work (!)
A weird country, where you can talk in english with a child, in french with a philosophy studient, in german with a shop lifter, but to talk with a minister or official you have to find a translator because they can't even speak proper Spanish.

Of course we're better than US! We were almost 7 years ahead of their crisis, we implemented more or less the same speech about the "for every dollar in the banks you will get a dollar" (in the end, the ones like me who had dollars received pesos, which still are US$ 0.30 seven years later), and we implemented that fancy "you can't withdraw more than $X in a month" idea!

We are still living bad times, even when this started 7 years ago. So, better you watch over Brazil economic models because in less than three years we're gonna be their economic satellite.

I warned you.

No really, sorry guys but im going to write an emo essay on my past thoughts for 2 years.

The whole world makes me sick. Theres nothing but war and stupid ideas with this world, when I lived in america I had the whole view of inside the box in my head, meaning I thought of america as the whole world, I was a stupid american like most of the others, they dont know what really goes on in the world. When I arrived in Poland my eyes opened up, I saw the world for what it really was, and it was sick. Now I dont feel like I belong here or there, over there is my home, where I grew up, but its still sick, here is something totally new to me I will never get used to. In short I am torn between 2 worlds.

War, its the most disgusting thing of all, our contriues turn us all against each other, through lies, and filthy speculations. We are all brothers and sisters, yet we fail to see that, when your in war all that is in your head is to kill the other person, when you kill a person, do you think about what you just did? Do you know that that was a person just like you? Someone who spent years growing and learning, doing almost the same thing as you? Most likely no, the question arises, why do we fail to look at each and every person as an indiviual human being? We look at each other and say he is black, he is a gay, he is a russian, but we're all the same things, and we all strive for the same thing.

In the past there were 2 world wars, in a couple of years we will mark 100 years of the first, but its funny, in the 1st war they had new technology, and arms, they basically thought like us today, that it could be ended swiftly and surely, it turned out to be a bloody 4 year struggle, and no side was a winner. They said the mistake of a world war would never happen again, mere years later a 2nd war broke out, again, new technology, and they thought everything would be easy. Well it sure was easy wasn't it? Now we come to the same thing again, nowadays we think, oh nukes, we can blast and eliminate a whole nation at once, but you can't! You think it would be like that but I guarentee it wouldn't!

Now im just going to say living here in poland I feel everyday stress that I will get blasted, because I can see and hear things from the stupid media, OHO the french are with the russians now, its all just grinning faces and shaking handslike Anpu said. I read that now they are saying some Russians tried to kill the polish president, of course it probably angers the russians like everything else, you know, its not the russians, again we have to think about individual people, its the stupid leaders. I never understood why the fuck Russia is so tense about Poland growing strong, like Austria was about Serbia, it just boils them up so much I will never understand it. Do they think we will fucking attack them or something? Hahaha,

the world needs to get the sand out of its vagina

Edge, you surely aren't ready to live in Poland. What you hear and that you live in fear - well, welcome to Poland's everyday life. When I told my grandmother about our president under risk in Georgia, she said "pity he didn't die" and seconds after "shhh they are listening..."

So welcome to the country ruled by Soviets not long ago. Welcome to the paranoia we all have, hearing such things every day. We are driven by fear and hate. You shouldn't be surprised. We were off the map for 123 years. We were under THREE partitions, we were first to be attacked by Hitler, we were betrayed so many times...

Of course it wasn't Russia who shot at our president. Imho it was Georgians who wanted to provoke world to turn against Russia. Does it matter? Everyone will forget about it in few weeks.

AmuthafukinMEN

if i knew u IRL u could be my best american friend... it makes me sick how most americans see the world and most dont even know their roots well; this world is sht but imagine it the other way around... you go frow the world to a fucking shit hole box where your smarter than one of the most powerful man in the world thats aperently RETARDED and these dumbshit people relected him TWICE IN A ROW. i lived half my fucking life under his dicktator BS that ******* old ass **** not worth half an ounce of horse sht (if i ever see him in person i will beat his ass dead!).

not to mention how the US preaches peace world wide and ending starvation when this contry buys crops from farmers and dumbs them to rot while people not that far over seas or boders but ACROSS THE FUCKING STREET now are starving!! and while over spreading an army preaching its sarcasam of being heros HORSE CRAP!! i know people and read on BBC that soliders over 100 a day KILL THEM SELVS for having shoot children; and theres litle kids like 7 years old in guantanamo bay!! (i think guantanamo or some prison like that) missing like 20 teeth.

IMO we brought this on our selvs, not speaking to eachother and living in our litle worlds fighting for relegions that preach respecting eachother, fighting to end our world with bombs and finding more things for our cars to burn on while since the fucking 90s!! cars run fine on electricety but world goverments AND oil companys boutch (or forced) rights and destroyed those cars.

sometimes i thank god for my sins....so i can end up in hell beating the sht out of these people :ranting:

man kind might as well as all turn emo or shoot its selv in the mirror, hopefully isolated indian tribes will survive and build their own world with survivors that will prevent this BS from happening for atleast longer than us.... that way trought the worst man kind might live, again learning it the hard way

sometimes i envy 3world children to busy looking for food to know this is the whole world instead of just them ... they got some hope, i see the bomb and life flashing in my eyes every second and cant belive people arent already fed up with sht and plan on bombing house, if you ask me US is been on alot of country's hit list for a while its just a matter of time. US very young country and out of the birth of war cant stay away from wars "they dont know that pease is like - from a movie"

Okai,gettin on topic:

ROMANIA:
A country full of absurd. One where 1 in 5 citizens is/was a thief, the wage is very small compared to prices, gypsies usually get mansions the sise of a big cathedral(where they never live),senators that sleep in their pants at all times have a wage of about 250000 euros a month, while the elders, who worked all their life good jobs, get about 150 euros a month, hobo people kinda rule the streets...

Here is a joke about our prezident(former prezident in 2 weeks),it looses the humour because of language problems, but here it goes:

ROMANIAN:
Basescu,in prima saptamana dupa alegeri:
Sa traiti bine!
A doua saptamana:
Sa traiti!
A treia:
Mai traiti?

Srry,it was for the Romanians out there.

ENGLISH:
Prezident Basescu,in the first week after the elections:
Live well!
Second week:
Live!
Third:
Still living?

"Sa traiti bine"(Live well) is a slogan used in his "reign".

Cuban is Spanish, with some slight variations. There are only a few idiomatic expressions that make it a little difficult to understand, which is common.

Oh, sorry... I tend to forget it >.<

Some translations:

"ME CAGO EN LA MIERDA" ---> I'm shitting in the shit
"OYE" and "VEN ACA" ---> "Hey" and "come here"
"Fidel se cae este ano" ---> Fidel['s dictatorship] will fall this year.
your daughter's "Quinces" ---> When a girl turns 15 it's normal to throw a big party. This usually happens in all Spanish-speaking countries.
"Bipeame, Faxeame, Shipeame, and Taipeame" ---> The first one is a reference to the beepers, those old devices that were used to receive sms-like messages. It's like "Beep me". The second means "send me a fax" or "fax me".

Welcome to Europe, the location of many wars. The WWI was caused by this; blind nationalism and hunger for territory. The second was a result of the first, the Versailles treaty was a terrible burden for Germany.
Although Europe may seem united to the outside world, that's not how we'd like to be seen. There are still a lot of cultural differences, although the borders are blending.
