ubuntu 8.10 sound issue

How do I get sound? I got it to work somehow the first time but I cannot remember. So could someone please help me because I hate this game without sound..... :juggle:

Follow these instructions first (http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showpost.php?p=569274&postcount=4).

Then... run pasuspend rolauncher. This suspends the PulseAudio daemon temporarily allowing you to get sound from one application despite the problems I mentioned in the post above.

If that doesn't work, then create a file in your home folder called ".openalrc" (without the quotes) with this content:


(define devices '(alsa))
(define alsa-out-device "default")
(define alsa-in-device "default")

with those ubuntu updates last weekend, my ubuntu8.10 now can have sounds, without any problems.
