Hey all,
We have seen a lot of accusations, rants about ppl save camping and not showing decency in battle. Instead starting flame wars in the forums, why dont we find a new way to encourage decency and chivalry in battle. How about posting here when someone did an act of chivalry that you were impressed about and you want to commend it.

Yesterday, I was fighting one of the tiny herb battles which i cherish so much where a few ignis would defend herb against a horde of syrtis (albeit lower lvls). As is often the case we had no conju and I had to ride back to herb from samal save. Nimrod caught me on the horse and killed me (well my char ;)). With my fellow defenders being outnumbered i took the chance again and rode back. As fate would have it Nimrod saw me at the same place again and i was caught off guard again. He could have shot me but he didnt because with dizzy i wouldnt have any chance to defend myself. I dismounted out of panic with the dizzy still on, he just bowed and went on his way. I was certainly impressed by that gesture. I commend Nimrod for the RO Medal of Honour :)
I just hope I could return the gesture at some other place.

Hope we could make this a RO tradition. This would give something for those ppl who really want to play fair (not that they need something but still...).

PS: Btw, Nimrod, I am not sure whether you were running from our realmmates who were hunting you and just didnt want more hassles :) but anyway it was a bloody fine gesture and kudos to you !

this medal certainly doesn't go to the low level knight I met yesterday who I tried to show I didn't want to kill, bowed, waved blah blah tried running away in the end because I refused to kill but got owned instead in a last minute fight with 200 hp left :/ (I got knocked off a horse too with the challenge spell)

The Medal of Honor, in real life, is a respected and very difficult medal to achieve amongst armed conflicts, with many recipients being awarded posthumously for tremendous acts of bravery in the face of great adversity. To make an RO Award using its name for someone not killing you twice is not only an injustice in my eyes, but an empirical and categoric error.

I appreciate that you wanted to recognize Nimrod for allowing you to live, but I think you might be thinking of a Citizenship Award rather than Medal of Honor. Maybe give him a little sticky blue star for merit and a smiley face.

ah let's not be so... well I don't have the word for it even though I agree :) but let this thread serve it's purpose.

The thread is serving its purpose, the thread is a recommendation. I recommended the award be modified to a Citizen Appreciation Award type thing.

Meh, Nimrod is an honourable player, if anyone deserves a medal of honour it's him, and Backe.

yeah, when i was a lower lvl nimrod had countless chances to kill me while i grinded, instead he bowed and went on his way, sometimes he would even help me by knocking the mobs or dizzying em, hes one of the few out of my own realm hunters i have sumwat respect for

Vega, Akilleo, Mattdoesrock, Zord, Dky Sven, Znurre, Inkster, FLuffy Muffin, Mow and a few more syrtans i cant remember have all shown that they are great warriors on the field to be feared and that they have honour and dignitty... While fluff doesnt seem to kill enemy grinders s/he does have a habbit of tormenting them with knock downs untill they go insane and drown themselves.

Nimrod: You just spawn camped me a bit ...... HOW DARE YOU :P and thanks for running once you'd killed me once

I actually agree you fight fair - killed me once then left me be (at the spawn anyway), thank you :D
