game+tsocks

hi,

I tried to connect to the game using tsocks, I could log in and select the world but after selecting the world i get this checking firewall and it doesn't proceed any further. So I was hoping if any of you guys have used tsocks or any other firewall bypassing method to connect to the game.

here are the commands i used to connect:

ssh -D 6000 user@some.remote.machine -p 22

export TSOCK_CONF_FILE=$HOME/.tsocks.conf

tsocks ./rolauncher


Below is my .tsocks.conf

server = 127.0.0.1
server_type = 4
server_port = 6000

If I'm not mistaken, Regnum also sends UDP packets, which cannot be routed through a SOCKS server.

I did this a thousand times and it works in my AMD Athlon64 x2 like a charm. But my Acer Aspire One (i386) doesn't run the game, not even without tsocks.

PS: I would try with "server_type = 5". I think OpenSSH uses SOCKS5.

PPS: This (http://regnumonlinegame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29241) is the thread I started about this in the Spanish fora some time ago. It may be useful if you speak Spanish... Or you can ask me. :P

i did try making the server_type=4 to server_type=5 but still i get the same response.

Now that you about the pc type, i am using a dell inspiron 1520 (laptop) , 2 gig ram and Nvidia 8600 GT graphic card.

I am sorry to say but i don't speak spanish, but i did go through the post with the help of google translations.

Isn't there anyother way of connecting to regnum then? apart from direct connections?

I am dealing with the same problem...

When Regnum checks the firewall it gives an Error and tells me to contact NGD.

Im using putty as client on windows and ssh on my slackwarebox.

I would like some help.
