View Full Version : Graphics glitch.

The game runs quite smoothly but part of my graphics is pixelated in weird way. Most of it I can see correctly when I come close enought, however it is quite not related to visible distance settings (I have tried to set them to max as well as other settings).

32 or 16 bit mode - the same thing.

Any hints?

Just on a hunch, at the game launcher, try setting it to download all data at once, tis will make sure you have all of the games files downloaded and installed when you launch, once it's done, exit the game and relaunch it then report back.

I used to get glitches like this when installing the game on a fesh install, it would almost always be fixed by having everything force loaded at launch.

I'd leave it set and follow the same procedure whenever NGD adds new updates to the game of lettig it all load, exit and restart as I remeber when they changed the sounds of some mobs, it was someimes random what sounds they made till I force loaded all files.

It didn't helped.

My Internet connection seems to be ok.

I can't see some parts (not all of them), of clothes, staves, hats, rocks and leaves on trees.

Sometimes when I get very close and zoom in the game to them I can see them, however setting visible distance not helps.

I have reinstalled the game and I don't have aforementioned errors anymore, but still can't see these things.

Game is using GL_S3_s3tc texture compression which is patented and was removed from mesa due to legal issues, even if your card supports hardware texture decompression, this library is needed for compression.

Solution

Install http://homepage.hispeed.ch/rscheidegger/dri_experimental/s3tc_index.html

or

apt-get install libtxc-dxtn0

Also using commercial retarded drivers from nVidia is a way to go.
They are great for games.
However if you plan to use some desktop Xorg features (ex. randr, kms, dri2,...) or big resolutions, nVidia is far behind what open-source drivers can offer.
During 2.24 gnome release it did not even support randr1.2 extension.

I am using intel i965. And I have S3TC support in my dri drivers.
