Hey guys,

Sorry things didn't work out so well tonight. We at least tried, though we were outnumbered at least 3 to 1, maybe more. I saw a lot of "very easy" at our gate and quite a few "easy," and that's to a level 38. Your efforts weren't wasted, they were and will be remembered. We learned some strategy lessons today that I don't think we will forget. We will conquer another time. :)

I had fun too Rulez. :) We were actually working together, coordinating areas, having consensus on our battle plan, etc., which is what makes the game fun for me. That doesn't often happen in Syrtis, which made it even better. :)

Um yeah.... Strategy tip:

INVADE IGNIS FIRST.

They did try that, but it didnt go so good for them, was a nice attempt though (wasnt a dig, i mean that) , but this force (check scan in log) should have been able to kill a few of us at least. You need to try and get some tactics, make it more fun for all of us, you for putting up a good fight, us for getting a good fight.

Today I tracked 16w 9a 22m (47 for those that cannot do math) at the ignis gate, and they got 3 captains and 15 guards as help. We had 38 people to attack the gate. 47 + 18 (65) versus 38. Nice way to balance the game.

I was looking forward to a good fight, no matter what the ratio was, but I lagged too much anway, so it didn't really matter how many of either side there were to be honest - what I estimated to be 0.1 fps just made it pointless. :mad:

I just logged out of Horus mid invasion tonight because it was pointless. Ignis had about 30, we had maybe 10-15 ( not all high levels either) and we got one captain and 3 guards. Not surprisingly, the guards were down in a matter of minutes and the gate was down almost as quickly. Something seems to not be working quite right if you consider tonight at the Syrtis gate and what Mira experienced at the Ignis gate.

May be you had a lot more than 38 on. They just didnt come? Btw, lotta ppl logged on only after the gate became vulnerable. So that might have screwed the logic. NGD can do only so much. Dont blame them for your incompetance. tis time Syrtis quit playing just with numbers and use some skill for a change. Anyway thanks for the rp :devil:

Last month is diferent from betwenn realms is settled and Ignis ppl cry at forum "we are unpopulated" lol. If reds dont may tread down others realms are unpopulated. :devil:. 1 question. Realm that may kill superboss every week minimaly is unpopulated? I play this game half year my mine is: Ignis is prefered realm.

Ignis is accoding to the Devs "underpopulated" compared to other realms (last I checked) but the thing that makes Ignis able to do much more than the other realms (at least syrtis) is that syrtis are mostly lazy un-motivated buggers who cant be arsed to move past our own boarders, And im finding myself in the lazy's group more and more unfautunatly :)

Well the fact that Ignis is mass logging out right before gate is vulnerable, then logging back in to get max guards, might be why mira got such a count.

This is just sad that the self deemed stronger realm has to resort to such pt tactics. They complain about not getting a good fight...don't cheat and they might be better.

And yes i have screenies to prove this but will not insult anyone this time.
And for those wondering yes it works for them on offense too (now syrtis you know why you never have guards at night when you are outnumbered)

IF IF it is possible to use such cheap tactics the easy thing to do is change the invasion timer so that instead of counting everyone at the moment it becomes vulnurable it counts every 2-3 mins for example then works out an adverage online ammount over that time, then uses that for the guards equation.

Im sorry,but thats total crap..ive been there 2 weeks now.. and syrtis ARE motivated. We've tried quite a few times to invade Ignis(dont forget we took the gems from Alsius). So for you Paul to say that were (mostly) not motivated..some people got up at 5am..5am.... to invade this morning...now that shows dedication not " lazy un-motivated buggers". Total crap..we had a huge group this morning and if Ignis hadnt had those guards to help them they would have been pwned and they know it. So if they did result to the methods there accused of then NGD better buck up their ideas and investigate. Me, im certainly not un-motivated and when im asked to go to war, i will go to defend and protect Syrtis to the best of my abilties.

You have been there a few weeks, I have been in Syrtis over a year, horus for many months, Occasionaly we will go invade in the early morning, I have been there for 2 such attempts, but often people are content to just sit around Cs doing very little or just talking.

To call syrtis energetic motivated people who are allways itching to be doing something, is wrong, you will notice soon enough :)

As for people "sodding" off to Ignis, its not a choice they made lightly, its a choice made because they are fed up of the few assholes in syrtis who have noting better to do than annoy them, 2 of said people were good freinds of mine who I had known for over a year / a few months. And I cant begin to describe the resent for the people who pushed them over the edge to the point were they decided to leave years old freinds and multipull lvl 50;s behind. Just to get away from them.

Lol, wow, Syrtis uses tactics? Funny I spent some time over there and the only tactic I was ever told to use was "Everyone hug the door" when the entire army I was with was archers trying to take a fort from 5+ barbarians sitting inside it. It really is amazing that you guys get anything done...

this is not the case, only one person that i saw logged at the time the gate was going vunerable..next time, send a camod hunter, track before and after gate going in danger, you will find next to no difference in numbers (ignis chat has been full of 'dont log cos its lame'..almost all listened)

In any case, logic dictates that if the numbers were unbalanced in a way that the defending was massively better than the attacking army, the attacking army would never even get to the gate, being unable to hold a fort and the castle for long enough.

oh god i'm sorry i just gotta reply to this its just too easy. 1st of all the only guys who logged off were getting freaky fps and were worried of crashing mid battle, not making magically more GC's. 2nd less than 30 ignis faced 60+ syrtis and 20+ alsius (we got the tracks and pics to prove it). Logging off before or after the gate becomes vulnerable does shit to making more GC's appear.Its whos on at the time of capture that counts.

oh and a brief mention to the realm hopping meco (Angel_deCombat) "ignis your time is coming"......they brought over 60, to our less than 30 mostly of us lvl 30 ish but we had 3 who had sultars and the rest had areas sacrificing their fighting spells for areas, I still salute those guys cos they were like kamikaze pilots.they rocked:punk: Bring it, we'll kill you both at the same time we have done before and we will many more times :swordfight:

I have seen a good response from Ignis while defending against those early morning attacks. But I think, neither it is bad timing by Syrtis nor is it some sort of coincidence (we have been defending successfully too long for it to be coincidence).
I think high lvl European players like Efrendi, NightShroud etc dont log on during those time for normal playing due to lack of battles, work etc. But I am guessing they have some kinda desktop alert(like I do) to notify them when the gates are in danger. We also usually have some good high lvl European regulars like Ori, Arathael, Slacker, Hath on at that time. Around these there are some mid lvl players who can lvl for areas. And there are things like MSN, phones to get their friends to pop in, cast a few areas and go back to whatever they were doing :P What more? we have our famous coordiation and you your (in)famous disarray.
Btw, remember the (now updated) magic numbers? 20-2-0?

20 - is definitely not a fluke :viking:

Actually neither Syrtis nor Alsius have invaded against equal numbers... I'm not sure where you get your info, but yeah... This fact is proven easily by all the threads about us having massive amounts of boss guards and the simply fact that no realm can realy invade any other realm if the armies are the same size, at least on Horus.

Who need proof ? It's damn simple defense have a massive tactical advantage called wall and towers. When Syrtis does wanna use full power on Ra the server crash LOL

Invasion systems IMO plainly sucks and is useless. Only glorifying victory vs NPC.

Ra Syrtis defense is fun. As all know, Syrtis is mainly archer realm, due to "Legolas" syndrome, so they are usually the best at defense, while offense part can suck (chaotic realm). I personally enjoyed couple of times defending gate. At least its in my timezone. :) Its not easy for my comp, but its worth :P

Yes, I enjoy it too with my warlock or marks (we generally have enought hunter to track ennemies regrouping too close to our gate).
