So far, my experience with this game has been considerably less than pleasant.

Gripes...

1, No matter what name I entered in forum account setup, nothing was accepted, hence the stupid forum name.

2, Why does downloaded content end up splattered all over /home/colin/Documents? It wouldn't be so bad if it went in a parent directory in Documents. Better still, put all downloaded content in ./ngdstudios. For this transgression alone, I will almost certainly uninstall this game.

3, Why do I have to input my password each time I play this game?

1: perhaps most names were taken? Legolas and SPARTA most likely are.

2: Natually, the game downloads all the content in the directory you launch it from. So place rolauncher in a "~/Games/Regnum"-directory and launch the game from there.

3: No, you don't have to type your password each time you log in. Just follow this procedure:
- Find out the (wierd?) hash of your password.
- Launch the game using ./game account hash instead of using ./rolauncher

And what the heck does this have to do with OpenSUSE? Also, try this:

The game is launched from /home/colin/Games/Regnum/rolauncher. Content is downloaded to /home/colin/Documents.

Uhm. I think it downloads to the working directory or something like that. Are you sure you did the following:

cd /home/colin/Games/Regnum/

And then:

./rolauncher

?

I think that if you want to launch it some other way you'll have to find a way to specify the working directory, or make a short script to launch the game (as I've done).

my experience with regnum was that if i didn't have ~/regnum dir the game would make one (even when my game was in ~/games/regnum and being run from there)

This seems to work for me:

sh -c "cd /home/colin/Games/Regnum && ./rolauncher"
