***PLEASE REFER TO THE NEXT POST, THANKS***
Hey everyone,
A while back, like, maybe last year, I installed the linux client of RO. I was a total linux newbie, and had no idea on how to install it, so I just installed the windows client and ran it under WINE, where everything worked perfectly.
Somewhere between then and now I deleted all my RO files in order to make room for other games, which I also later deleted.
Now, nearly a year later, I installed the linux RO client and installed it. Everything is working perfectly, except for one major detail.
I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING!
When I first started up the game the ngd studios video played nicely, nothing wrong there. Then it goes to what was suppose to be the loading screen, where you see "Regnum" and (if my memory serves me correctly) a picture of hills in the background, and the loading bar. Instead, all I see are a bunch of choppy zig zags, strips, and blocks. "Okay" i thought, "maybe it just didn't load right"
Well, the same goes for the main screen, all those choppy stripes, but now I see my character standing there, and the menu. I click play game, and wait for it to load.
Now that the game has loaded, I notice something isn't quite right, but just to be sure I gave the game a few minutes just in case it was still loading.
Nope.
So now all I see on my in-game screen is my HUD (which looks perfectly normal - nothing wrong with it) and white. Just a plain white screen with the HUD on it.
I tried restarting my computer, but it didn't help. This time I saw the little blue alien-dude from ngd studios standing upside-down on my screen, as well as my normal looking HUD.
I asked some guys there if they could help, and they told me to check my drivers and to make sure mesa-common-dev files were installed, and both were on and in working order.
What could be the problem? Should I just abandon the linux client and go back to the windows under wine client?
Thanks in advance!
