yes, i have the same problem, tried to open and then just wont.
Xp pro x64
Reinstall did not help me......i will attempt to download a new installer (this one is about 2 months old).
Edit:
After the 3072kb update, i cannot even launch the launcher, it thinks about it and then just fails. Tried a fresh install. Restart of PC does not help either.

Im afraid that i still cannot get it to work, im going to try another reinstall..... But i did try an install i did and did not update and it still doesnt work. Also the fixed executable still just thinks about loading the game and then doesnt. I will try again, just wanted to give my initial feedback.
Edit:
Reinstalled a fresh install with the latest installer, it tried updating again with the same results. No luck using the fixed .EXE it performs the same as the patched original.

I'm having the same problem, neither the new exe nor the old one gains me the chance to get into the game.
Everything I get is an error from windows, that RO.exe must be ended.
Many clanmembers of me are having the same prob atm.
We are so in need of help. Who helps us to get back into RO again?

Might be a good idea to post your OS and some basic system info.....though if its this widespread, its obviously not a hardware or os issue so much as a client issue.....however...... My girlfriend is on Vista (nasty) and she can get into the far further than i can. I should ask her to see if she can actually play rather than get to where you can choose your server. Mine exits program as soon as the patch is loaded and then will not start again. Is this limited to XP or are vista users having this issue as well?
Based on what Kailer posted, it seems this affects linux as well.......
Edit:
I can log in and play on the GF's computer which is some version of vista, though there are people on xp playing atm, so im not sure that its purely limited to xp. Either way, it sucks :P
I had same problem. (Windows XP user)
So, i did a reinstall and tried to launch the exe.
It crashed as i was expecting but... it created a new launcher inside main folder (C:\Games\NGD Studios\Regnum Online) with name "old_RegnumOnline.exe".
Tried to run this one and vouala it works just fine!
So i changed my shortcuts in start menu etc. and i am ok now.

I watched the open folder while i ran the update and that file did appear, and then disappear as soon as it was created, as well as a folder called selfupdate. I tried grabbing it before it could delete itself but no luck.....
Edit
NM, i managed to grab it this time, just had to be faster. Id post the file but im not sure thats something that im allowed to do, and i dont want to open that can of worms. What i did do though was make the folder as large as i could and grab it as soon as it appeared, dragged it to desktop and copied it right away. So sorry i cannot post it, but i feel that to do so would take too many risks on my end.... giving a way an executable file for a game, i could be accused of all manner of things, so sorry.

Try that. It took me about 6 tries to get it, but that was the fix. Also try that link that Kailer posted, it might work for you.... it didnt for me, but good luck.

For those who can't execute Regnum at all, please follow this steps:
1. Download the following file:
http://download01.regnumonlinegame.com/downloads/files/reparar_regnum.exe
2. Execute it and be sure to put the correct path of your Regnum folder and press "Instalar/Install" (remember to put "Si a todo/Yes to all" when it starts to replace):

Someone started a thread in the Linux forum about this, but I figured I should mention it here too, since the patches for Linux were posted in this thread.
I am having the exact same problem on Linux. I have the latest rolauncher posted in this thread (although it appears to be the same as I was already using) and am still having the same problem. The last post from Kailer is of no help to Linux users, either, so I'm stuck. :tsk_tsk:
Help would be appreciated.

Just had exactly the same problem and, after downloading the previous file Kailer posted (reparar_regnum, from a post dated of 06-10-2009) and following the indications, the game finally launched well.
The game was crashing right after the 1378Kb download during server check - right after Login/Password - even after uninstalling/reinstalling with the new launcher version.
OS : WinXP X64

ARG!!!!
I just ran the launcher and it pulled an update and "hung" so I quit it.. and tried re-running the launcher and now it crashed immediately every time.
I did notice that it had updated the RegnumOnline.exe and well as two of the MSVC dlls during the update and it has "removed" those now.
I downloaded the new RegnumOnline.exe linked above and it still crashes immediately.. (page fault on write access to 0x0016ffb4 at address 0x7bc3555a Running this through crossover games on the mac. I'll test the exe in vmware/winxp next)
Can you post MD5 or SHA1 hashes for the launcher and dlls?

So what changed in this update that broke it from running flawlessly in Crossover Games?!?!? I just bought a bunch more Ximerin too and now can't play the game!.

ok how work for me >
I downloaded the repair kit what was posted bellow, I extrcacted it to the regnum folder. Turned off my net connection and launched the game when the login screen came out I turned it back then the small patch was there again but the client didnt crash and just enter :P

What I ended up doing was running the launcher in Vmware.. then ran all the game updates (game didn't want to run correctly in vmware.. all music no video, but could be because the res it set to 1800x1125 and the vmware was 1280x1024).
so I ran the old repair kit from above, kept a copy of that RegnumOnline.exe (Named it Test.exe)
Reran the game in Crossover games it of course updated and "broke".. then I reran the launcher using the Test.exe it of course things the game is fully updated, and launched the game (after updating files to current) and it worked perfectly. So at least I have a workaround until the launcher gets fixed.
