Dear friends and enemies,
In the recent months, I have had less and less time for Regnum, which has been made even worse by the continually declining state of the game, making me often question whether it is worth it to even log in. The only reasons I have kept doing so was because of the friends I had made here, especially my beloved clanmembers.
But, as my main class (Barbarian) has been turned to crap, my second main class (Hunter) is constantly being scrutinized as well as the threat of yet another impending nerf (on top of a thousand already...), and my third main class (Conjuror) is bordering on useless due to the nerfs that no one ever asked for or understood, I have lost all faith in this game.
I had already left the forums several weeks ago, and at first, I planned only to move to Horus (Ignis) and sever my ties with the rapidly dying English community on Ra - a situation that many have suffered from. But I discovered that even with the new Initiation Zone, levelling was as painful and depressing as ever, and the overall state of Ignis still has not been improved since beta. There are still no quests, or mobs, or anything.
The worst of this is that we are practically forced to pay for this broken game. Those who aren't able to buy premium must face drawn out, often depressing scenarios like spending months just to get to Level 50 on a single character, in a RvR and PvP oriented game.
The overarching problem is: This is true about everything in the game. Some people see improvement, and others only see disappointment. And unfortunately, I seem to belong to the latter group, and it's been proven that in cases like these, NGD's best wishes are for us to leave entirely. And some players would love to see me go as well.
So that's it for now. I might return some day, just like I always have. But if I know what's best for me. - I won't. Staying with the game is a drain on those who saw so much potential in it and can't let go of that stubborn dream. It was not game addiction, it was hope for something wonderful. But it's time to let it go.
I can't honestly say I gained anything from Regnum other than some fond memories, and I probably won't even be remembered for much more than my bitching. It's a dog's death for literally years of hard work - but that's exactly what I've come to expect from the game I once loved.
Goodbye.
To Dky, Znurre, Dracus, Fluffy, Kael, Milk, Nessa, Refe, Matt, Red, Valour and many others:
“A year, ten years from now, I'll remember this; not why, only that we were here like this, together.”
