we got into conversation in other topic so let's keep on subject ;D talk about amazing aircrafts, most likely military!

Su-47 is amazing because of its wing design
http://www.suchoj.com/ab1953/Su-47/images/Su-47_21.jpg

but Dky you said something about Fokker G-1, well P-38 is sorta like that, but better! >;D

The P-38 was designed about 5 years later. :)

And yea, the SU-47 has an awesome wing design.

Fokker D-XXIII:

Too bad it never went further than the prototype stage.

And no topic about aircraft is complete without this one:

When it comes to Messerchmitts I prefer 262 with jets ;D

Nice Spitfire with two propellers o_o

let's not forget about amazing Vought F4U Corsair with bent wings, oh god I am so weak against the coolness of different wing designs ;D

Sorry for repeating, but I am also fan of Su-47:
Except different wing position, this plane impressed me with great manoeuvrability.

Also:
Tu 160
It s the first plane bomber that took my whole attention

and finally:
Su 35
no comment :) (I want one!)

Su-47 is just pure gold. If I could fly, I'd get this one xD (unfortunately I am piz, i'd kill myself)

Yeah, Tupolev 160 is really some wtf plane. You can see its flight here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMdiPLnTgjw

Here is mission simulation with Tu 160 (just note comparing to other planes in group(2xSu 35 and Beriev A 50), how big it is)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pShA8ajFWHo&feature=related

One of the great Russian planes is also Antonov (An) 124.
On pic, its transporting commercial Airbus plane to Emirates who bought it (Airbus plane). An 124 opens its cargo space by opening its nose up (as shown on pic)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ee/Polet_Airlines_An-124_swallowing_Emirates_Airbus_A380.jpg/800px-Polet_Airlines_An-124_swallowing_Emirates_Airbus_A380.jpg

here is one better side view:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/4c/AN124RampDown.JPG/800px-AN124RampDown.JPG

And it has also ramp under tail, too.

Tu 95
yet another good bomber

yeah, when Berkut (Su 47) went "public", which was around beggining of 2000, that plane became interesting, especially because of wing concept. So I believe also director of "Stealth" was inspired by it too.

B-2 is more damage than good, IMO. That plane requires special sprays that you need to apply on its surface in special hangars,to remain its "stealth" feature. Its very expensive for maintaining. Design looks "futuristic" because of purpose for stealth ability, like whats tried with F117 (B2 has smooth surface, while F117 has panels under angles for "stealth" feature, if I remember well)

Lockheed Martin company (now part of Boeing, which designed F117 and B2) has some very very interesting concepts how new planes should look and so on. I have some concepts in books, which I couldn't find on net,but for example:

http://sitelife.aviationweek.com/ver1.0/Content/images/store/7/2/f77ffea8-5ff3-4cd4-926a-53ab5326acbb.Large.jpg

here is some of their projects, F 35 JSF (Joint Strike Fighter)

http://www.fcaap.com/images/research_focus/Lockheed/F-35.jpg

and "legendary" F 117 (for Serbia was legendary in war 1999, because that plane was introduced as "super stealth" which cant be caught by radar, and we shot 3 of them down (when it opens bomb cargo doors, it leaves tiny signal on radars))

I wish our air force would buy the Saab Gripen instead of the Joint Strike Fighter :/

http://www.stuorg.iastate.edu/aeemgso/Gripen_P_G_2002_6.jpg

I mean, the Gripen is already here, much cheaper than the JSF and many functions who are supposed to make the JSF special still have to be developed.

I wouldn't be surprised if we still used them -.- the most advanced fighters are F16, we got them from USA (cause they wanted to throw them out, but hey, Poland wants to pay!)

We have about 50 of them, and always about 90% of them are broken ;P

The Dutch airforce says our F-16s have metal fatigue, which is why we need new planes, they are becoming dangerous to fly. That's why we'll sell them to other countries \o/

Gotta love any aircraft that can dump its extra fuel directly into hot zone of its afterburner. (Edit: Looks like this one did so just post-transonic, which is pretty cool. Must've been a tricky photo....)

The Barbarian of military aircraft.... Once the fatest tactical strike machine, now reduced to being used for parlour tricks at fireworks shows. Difference is that everyone's already given up on their F-111s....

wow it's huge. Is it a sort of a carrier for troops or it's heavy armored too?

They mostly fly medevac. But they can carry a fair few troops too.
They are very fast and i think pretty well armored.
The only weaponary they normally carry is a heavy machine gun on the back ramp i think.

I know it's not military (but original is!), but HEY we've got new medic choppers after 30 years of using MI-2 ^^ they are very advanced and are even better than commanche ;D looks very similar though! It's called EC 135 and I am really amazed with all the technology inside. Can fly backwards and is very still, so you can reanimate and even do life saving things you couldn't do in an ambulance. Although atm we have only 13 of them, it's a good beginning I think, and the range is amazing, whole Poland!

aw old topic dug up! why chauvinistic? it looks cool D: what plane is it?
It could be considered chauvinistic because it is painted in orange -- the Dutch national colour, the colour of the Dutch royal family and the same colour is the one the Irish protestants use in their marches to show their gratitude to the king for winning some battles over there (Don't hate us, Irish Republicans! The family wasn't providing the monarch for the Netherlands at that time, just the stadtholder. ;)) -- and shows the Dutch lion, which is the centre piece of our coats of arms and is often used as an allegory for the Netherlands. (The strong people of the Netherlands have got the power and the determination of a lion! Yeah, right...). The design used on the plane is the same as the one used in logos and on the coat of arms itself.
