I just returned to work in China after being home in North America for the summer.

I could connect without problem to the Regnum server in North America.

Now that I'm back in China, I'm having difficulty even though I'm using the same laptop.

I get the first screen and click "ACCEPT"
(main window still shows LOADING... even after an extended period)

I enter my password.

The next window appears (no text in main window yet, a 0/1255 message appears at the bottom of the screen, and then the program shuts down and goes into a loop, repeating this step but never loading.

Any ideas/hints?

You could maybe redownload and reinstall the app. Might be it likes to adjust location settings based on your install location. What about line tests? Comparable bandwidth there and in North America? Try to see how many hops it takes to get to RO servers from where you are now.

If you know people near to where you were when you were in NA, ask them to perform the same test and see what it comes up with. Other than that, i have no idea, and thats just speculation to begin with.

Bandwidth is definitely an issue here, though it should not have been at this time of day. I'll give your ideas a try and see if I get any success.

It's definitely not a China related issue, I just downloaded that update successfully yesterday and its working fine. It wasn't working at first on my account, but I actually had a friend come over and log in on his account using my laptop and it seemed to work just fine. So all I can suggest is that you try using a different persons account just for the purpose of downloading that update(this probably has nothing to do with it but its worth a shot I guess).
