There's a similar place in alsius I think, a burning tower between skolheim and rottersvall, you can click the door but I don't think it does anything either. (Unless I missed a quest...?)

I'm not familiar enough with the new ignis initation area to say if anything like this exists there. All my igg characters were created prior to it's improvements.

If NG3D 2.0 can handle instances, I'm not sure what I'll do with myself...

There is, in fact, an enterable cave in ignis ini zone. You click on the entrance and it takes you into the lair of some giant spider.

You have to click both totems first, then you can actually enter.
And you will just get teleported to another location "inside the mountain" (open sky) just like the dragon island.

The Ignis Zone is full of instances.

Yeah I thought that too. It's new anyway... but has no use (for now?)
It's been suggested for a series of catacombs beneath the War Zone connecting each realm.

Or you can just go over mountain, though finding a "walkable" path is more painful now, but still exists :)
On screenshot is view from mountain what's n other side. Once you go down, you cannot climb back.

Are these really instances?
I mean if two players click on it at the same time do they get their own instance? Dont they see each other inside?
Btw, IMO Dragon Island is NOT an instance. There is only one copy of the island but it is just not on map.

Exactly.
People usually mix up "dungeons" (something which is impossible to create only using heightmaps, which is why NG3D does not support it) and instances.

Even if NG3D 2.0 would support dungeons, using some kind of indoor worldmanager, these would not automatically be instanced.

PS. IMO. Instances is something any MMO should stay away from.
The more you instance a game, the more you separate people and the less PvP action you get.
