Hello
i finally got my microphone working and thought my problems were over....
but this thing with mumble doesn't seem to be as easy as i was told...
when i open mumble, it asks me to conneect to a server, i have not the faintest idea to which one...
then i run mumble-overlay ~/regnum_nt/rolauncher
and as fas as i see exactly nothing changed....
so what do i need to do to get this working?
thanks in advance

You should join the same server as the one your friends are at.
Imagine a server like a chatroom, you have to know the server information, and then when you have connected you can talk with the people on that server.
Ask your friends to give you more information about what server to use.
Regarding the Mumble overlay, it is intended to display the people currently in the same channel as you - on the current Mumble server.
That said, you must first join a server and enter a channel with people to actually see anything at all from that overlay.
Good luck.

yes, start mumble app first, join server, then reduce it to your systray. Then start the overlay, and it should appear as the game starts.
Just one addendum. If you have mumble 1.2.0, you will actually get two binaries, not one, with the install. One binary will be called mumble11x, which is for joining servers that are still using the 1.1 protocol. The other binary is just called mumble.
The best way to find out what protocol its using is by just starting mumble, and connecting to the server of your choice. If it connects with no complaints, then its using the 1.2 protocol, and you can carry on using that one.
However, if it does complain that "this server appears to be using an older version of the protocol", and then asks if you want the compatibility client to be used, cancel it, and quit mumble, then fire up 'mumble11x'. You will need to re-enter the server details, as it uses a seperate config file, but that will then be ok with the older server.
