Hey guys,

this text is not for NGD, but for you, the community. I've been playing this game for 2 years. When I started, it was fun, there were some things I could discover and enjoy such as new levels, locations, realms, classes and stuff. When I discovered everything, the game was still fun cause of gameplay, but the fun is gone and it's been gone for quite a while. The main thing why I can't stand this, is the logic of this company, which is, in my opinion, so bad - they don't interact with their community.

NGD needs to realize that they are screwed without their community and they need to start looking after it. It's all about psychics - nerfing stronger classes and taking from people their powers (because of less work), instead of improving the weaker classes and adding new powers, doesn't make the people feel well. If the people go ask why the game changes the way it does, the company mostly ignores, which makes the people feel like there's no interest in them. The game has got a lot of bugs and they aren't fixing them - they are fixing only the bugs which can benefit the players somehow, that fact leaves the people pissed off as well, specially if they contribute in bug catching and their reports aren't even read. They want to improve their game, who wouldn't, but they are doing it the wrong way - while there's nothing to do in-game (lacked gameplay), they are improving graphics. They should have rather made the crafting system. Horus, the server I've been playing on, is one big problem cause of imbalanced realms. One of the developers should really try to play against a zerg camping a fort, should try the dying over and over - and if people go ask for a solution, not there's none, but there's not even a response. If you look at Horus population, it wasn't different a year ago - I mean the average count of players online - regarding the in-game activity. I guess the community isn't growing. Well it probably is, but very slowly. Yes new people are coming but old people are leaving in the same rate.

I've been here for a long time, I was discussing about the game, I was pointing at it's problems, I was adding suggestions and since there were no replies, I've got bored of it and lately I must say that I was just laughing at people who were doing the same as me before, like it was worthless. At the top of everything, I've got banned for 2 weeks for trading magnanite ignots, gathered the standard ways. I sent 2 emails to NGD to sort it out and get the ban off my chars. They didn't even bother with replying. Banning people using AI? Excuse me, NGD's AI isn't really good enough for this. They should have checked the logs first, then start banning, not in this reverse order. This is not the right way to handle a community. Imagine a guy and a crowd in front of him - the guy is Google and the crowd is it's community. Google is hugging the whole crowd trying to keep it as possible. Now imagine a guy and a crowd in front of him - the guy is Regnum Online and the crowd is it's community. The guy is turned back, the crowd is screaming, when the crowd is too loud, the guy just covers his ears. Now the guy gets into a bad mood, takes a gun and fires several bullets (bans) to the crowd and.. Uhm. NGD wants to make a hole to the Earth with their game, but they aren't gonna make it this way, unless they are willing to develop this game for themselves, not for their potential customers.

Look how modern development is done (giving examples of companies I can just think of): companies realize that without users their products are nothing. They are advertising to get people's attention (IBM - the smart planet). They are moderating their communities to let them feel the best (Microsoft), sometimes even better than they actually feel (Apple) and they are giving the best possible support (Adobe - flex). They are making the community to contribute - letting them say their opinions, discuss their products, letting them say their ideas (Cannonical - Ubuntu), letting them play games related to the product and participate in contests (Google). Many companies write blogs about their products to at least let their communities know that there's something happening (Google again).

NGD has got the necessary stuff which they can use to handle their community, but they aren't using it. Somebody can say that this company is small and they haven't got the human resources to manage this, then hell it's time to get them. This is my personal view of the situation and you must admit that it's getting warm here on the forums.

Wyatt told me that there was written "Community driven development, meaning we develop the game based on players' feedback." on the regnumonline.com.ar front page - it's gone, obvious. You can still see it on the (still) untranslated Brazilian front page ( http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/index.php?l=2&sec=0 ).

Perhaps, my second year, I was playing the game only cause of my in-game friends and I think I wasn't the only one. There are ways to communicate with them without playing the game though, so the game is not interesting for me anymore. I'm going to take a break then. I don't say I'm leaving for good - I'd like to come back when things get better, and I believe one time they will. I'll also come to say hello and check the news time by time. See you guys.

The characters you could meet me with: Slava (Ra & Horus), Slava's daughter (Ra), Medea (Horus), Knight Slava (Horus), Kaspi (Ra & Horus) and Spratek (Horus)

+1 Kaspi on all your points and it's sad to see you go after all this time playing. I personally am also getting bored of Regnum and if it wasnt for alot of friends here playing with me i wouldnt be playing, On the other hand now ALOT of my clan have started to move to Allods online. The game is now in its open Beta stage and i've played it along with some of my clan mates and it's ammount of content at the open beta stage is AMAZING and it has 2 factions that fight each other, Granted not the great war we've come to love in Regnum (and also come to be enfuriated by).

NGD your game grows stale and boring after you get to 50 the ONLY resons anyone stays is:

1. The linux client
2. The community

so here's your problem you are losing players that have been playing for years, there goes the community. I have heard even Znurre has taken a break.

The Linux client, Granted you are one of the only companies who make a linux client but if more and more started to do it and your community is already falling apart then seriously what is keeping us here?

Eye candy is great but how hard is it to tweak the effects of some spells? to stop the counter being reset on Sultars terror if we are already down (this doesnt happen with kick or feint or ambush).

NGD this isnt a flame post either this is me seriously asking you to look at your competition and to look at your disgruntled fanbase that you are losing, and asking you to make us enjoy this game, to WANT to grind a new char to WANT us to spend hours in the WZ taking fort after fort, because all i want to do now is talk to people i know in clan.

NGD i love this game and what you could make of it but it's like a mediocre action film you watch it once think WOW then you struggle to find a reason to watch it again.

I finish writing this small rant thinking what is the point it'll just be ignored/deleted/I'll get banned.

Sad too see another Thread like this.. :/

but it's one of the best i must say.

This game is driven by the community wanting it to be the best experience possible. NGD seems to be Driving on the opposite side of the road as the community and making the game go in the wrong direction

Regnum Online needs to be inspired by the people who play the game not the people who make the game

it seems of late the Community asks for 1 thing (Balance/Expansions) and NGD do Character Models/ect.. i will admit "stash" was something that was a big +++ but imo it should have been created a long time ago.

Regnum is in a Terrible state atm NGD dropped all there promises and plans on things and decided to go in a opposite direction ( the Wrong Direction )

well to sum it up...

NGD you need to listen to your community and take idea's (Maybe a Poll on new content to do next ) we should be doing your road map not you!

About the current state of support, NGD knows that it should be better and they are looking for a lead support guy. However, they need someone who lives near Buenos Aires and speaks good Spanish and English, together with some other requirements. It'll take some time to find one, but hopefully the quality of support will increase.

I see the Untranslated Brazilian Regnum Page for a year and I've never noticed that they took that away.
And I always thought that this game was community driven, but now I understand what's going on... :tsk_tsk:

Sad to see a good player go away. G'luck with the rest of your life.

This left me speechless, as it is soooooo not what NGD is doing since a long time ago (and I rofl'ed at the fact that the page hasnt been translated yet).

Funny how your view is close to mine. There is only one thing that I miss from Regnum, it's people I've been playing with.

Agreed, Very nicely done, BUT NGD will not read this.

Thanks for an inspiring overview, you have the same thoughts as I do(RA version).

Sorry to see you go on a break again. It was enjoyable playing alongside you.

I enjoyed reading this thread . +1. Very well constructed and expressed.

Regarding the worker needed, maybe the "some other requirements" are the stumbling block.

Ugh, it's so sad to see another one of these posts :crying1:

Huge +1 though.

Something needs to be done, we're losing amazing players, every single day someone decides to quit! And in all honesty I don't blame anyone who does.

I'm afraid the day will come when the people I enjoy playing with will no longer play, and that will be day I'll have to say goodbye as well, since they are the only thing keeping me in RO. :(

Sigh*

Take care Kaspi, hope you come back some day!

So many points of this post ring so true, with so many.

I can't blame him for his reasons for leaving. The community which kept me longer than I would have anticipated (because of the people) seems to be fading and I find myself playing less and less because of it.

I doubt I'll post such an eloquent and articulated thread stating the reasons for any departure I may make, or even say anything at all about it....all of it has been said already.

Catch you on the flipside man. Best Regards.
