View Full Version : Your Favourite Noob Story

I started playing in Ignis as a dark elf mage. My 2nd day I read a message on the main chat: "We are being invaded. ALL TO SAMAL". Me being a team player promptly ran from the noob zone, into the safe zone and out into the warzone as a lv5 mage.
It took me so much time to make the journey I ended up arriving at Samal the exact moment the fort door had been broken and the players were mopping up the survivors and taking the flag. So yeap picture this. A lv5 mage standing infront of Samal with a group of lv50s ready to take on the Sytris horde.
Why I ended up leaving Ignis a couple of hours later and going to Sytris is another noob story but I'll save that for another thread.

Back when I played on Ra and I was a tiny lv 8 Mage I saw this Conju coming to Allahed monuments and he just stood there and watched me. He had a Mummy with him.
I said Hi and he answered in English, one of the first Non-holas I had ever met in Regnum. I asked where he got the Mummy and he told me that if I killed a Hyena (That stood next to us) then I would drop one. Stupid as I was I tried to kill it and failed. I came back and on the way from the Ressu altar I got someone for follow me by saying some awesome phrase I had learned in Spanish. We(Me and the other noob) tried to kill the Hyena but failed. And failed again. And again. The conju was watching us all along, not healing or anything. He probably resummoned his mummy while we were dead and heading back.
What a awesome day that was.

Hmm mine would probably be when I played my first ever char, a hunter.
i had just gotten the camo skill, and was on my way to wz to see how fun it would be.
on my way I encountered 2 spanish guys, who mentioned my name, and "wait" so of course being a noob i did, and for the life of me all I understood were the words" phone" and "sex" "msn" and plsssss.. having no other way to get out of this convo I used camo for the first time ever :)
I enjoyed watching them running up and down hills looking for me while I ran like mad.

Omg, the first-teleport to the WZ, good old times <3
I was running around with my brother, with whom I used to grind (up to 35 actually when he stopped because of too many evades, lol). We found this teleporter and clicked it both, of course. My brother had read some things about the warzone in the Internet, but we didn't really know what it was, only that it exists. I can't remember whether back then there was no map or we just didn't know how to activate it (it was around september 07). So we had NO idea where we actually were and just ran around randomly. As it happened, we started seeing a silhouette of a fort and we ran towards it. It was, as you never would've guessed, Samal. Couple of HOLAS were standing there and we asked them how to get back. Unfortunately, none of them spoke English... But they figured out what we were asking for and just pointed towards the gate. So my brother and I ran in that direction and reached the gate, somehow. But then we still didn't know where we were and after about an hour of running around and discovering Medenet, we saw Tomb guards and the Caravan we had found already before (we were already level 15 or so) and then we were at Altaruk and lol-ed a bit
Edit: Oh I thought of another one. A bit later, we found out how to use tah map. And I looked at it a bit more closely and saw the pozo, which on the map looks like a vulcano. I thought omgomg a volcano, /me wantz to see that. So I went to the gate and ran blindly towards pn2, which I thought was a clever move. lol. The first time I died to an aggro cyclops somewhere near Menirah. Second time I actually reached pozo (!!!). Don't ask me how, just don't. I was a bit disappointed but for some reason I found the whole attracting (lol don't get me wrong) and I wondered if there was something down there and... suddenly a warlock appeared and cast lightning on me. So I escaped into the whole. Funny thing was, when I was down there I died of the DoT, but the other warlock followed me down and I watched him try to go up and he failed...

Back in the beta, when Pozo was a bigger hole in the ground...
I was somewhere between 35 and 40. I consider this as a noob story too, cause I was not really god that times back^^
I was hunting there at pozo and found a knight who was grinding there. I attacked him, he was running to pozo but very close to the edge. It was pretty easy falling there accidently. He fell.
I thought "omg, noob, lol". Got a nice position, and fired. Somehow I made a small step forward... I was in the hole too. So he finally killed me :/
... And if the knight did not die from boredom he still sits there today :p

I was near lvl 28 when I did my first unexpected trip in WZ, I killed the fire pendant but I saw a glowing light near, I double click on it *poof* I'm teleported. I look at the map "damn, it will take so long to get back to home..." so I prefered to visit the world. I visited alga, then pp2, then I tried to enter to trelle but I got 2-shooted by the guards. :D

good story! only one problem.....
I ended up leaving Ignis a couple of hours later
>.>
When I first started regnum (around beta time - shortly after), I went to fight near Meni with a group of people. First time in the warzone and I knew NOTHING. I saw a "red" and attacked him...but it was that weaponsmith that sits on the hill outside of meni - at any rate - he kicked my ass.
I didn't come back out until I was almost 50

Shining-Scias proclaims himself the Worst Conjurer Ever. This post may wrest that honor from his grasp, or at least estabish myself as the Worst Conjurer in Alsius/Horus. See if you agree:
== Introduction ==
I was probably level 35 or 36 when this happened, still pretty noobish, and only recently having soloed the Fire Pendant Holder was feeling pretty full of myself. I was near Hopstad, slapping around daggerfangs with Rocky (my rock golem - why can't we name summons? hunters get to name pets!) when a message shows up on realm chat. Somebody needed help with the Fire Pendant Holder!
Cool - I'm nearby, FPH is no match for the likes of me, and I'm ever so helpful! omw.
== Meet Dude ==
So I get near the fire altar and here's this dude... (I'm calling him Dude, not because that's his name, but because I don't remember his name, and even if I did, he might be desperately trying to forget this ever happened. Anyway, there are people in-realm with 'Dude' in their names - 'Dude with a stick' and 'Mr. Dude' come to mind, but it was neither of them. Just to make that clear.)
He was a marks, I think, may have been a hunter, but I don't remember a pet. Anyway...
We switch to General, to avoid forcing the entire realm tune in on our little adventure. I'm kinda modest that way.
Me: "HiImGythaAndImAConjAndFPHWontBeAProblemIllKeepYouH ealedAndGiveYouManaYouJustFightHimIfYouNeedRocky(T hatsMyRockTrollWhyCantWeNameSummonsHuntersGetToNam ePets)AnywayIfYouNeedRockyToHelpLetMeKnowOtherwise IllJustSupportItMightTakeAWhileNoProblemWellGetThi sDone"
At this point my left lung collapses so the Dude manages to get a word in edgewise:
Dude: "Yeah, uh, swell, the thing is, he's stuck."
I haven't seen FPH up to this point, so I look around. And around some more. Finally, up. There he is, half-way up the mountain, bashing his head on the mountainside. Wham! Wham! Wham!
Dude: "I've been trying to target him."
He tries some more, (Wham!) I try with my staff (yeah, I'll out-reach a marksman, like I said, still noobish), (Wham! Wham!) I tried sending Rocky up there, we tried going up a less-steep spot and shinnying sideways toward him.
Nothing worked.
(Wham! Wham! Wham!)
Finally, I came up with The Cunning Plan.
Me: "Okay, let's try this. I'll go up to the top of the mountain, and start sliding down. When I see FPH, I'll click on him to target him, and get a shot off. Then, he'll chase me down the mountain, and we can fight him."
Dude: "Okay, it's worth a try."
== Pride and Precipice ==
What A Smart Conj Would Do: A smart conj would take a reading of the coordinates below the FPH, to make sure they knew exactly where to start their slide down. At least, that's what I assume a smart conj would do, sadly, there were none available for this venture.
What I Did: So I run back toward Hop to find a passable slope up the mountain range, then up into the peaks, and find the one that I'm pretty darn sure has an FPH with a headache about halfway down.
Me: "Okay, Dude, I'm starting down!"
No response. Guess he's speechless in awe of my brilliance...
Me: "LEEROY JEEEENKIIIIIINS!!!"
I start barreling down the mountainside, Rocky avalanching along beside me. A few seconds later I notice what's not below me. The FPH. The Fire Altar. Spiders.
Dude.
And then I notice what IS below me.
The sea.
== Between a Rock and a Wet Place ==
So here I am, on a steep slope, no ledges or paths in sight, just steepness to the left of me, steepness to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with...nobody.
Me: "Dude. I kinda went down the wrong mountain, I think. I'll try to get back there, but there's no path."
Me: "Dude?"
So I try to walk to the side.
Step...slip...step...slip...
A clue briefly flutters into my pea-sized brain. I'm gonna die. Oh, man, I couldn't help with the FPH, I'm stuck on a mountain, and Dude won't even talk to me anymore. I must be the worst conj that ever lived.
Me: "Dude, I'm slipping into the ocean, I think I'm going to drown."
No response.
Well, FINE! I TRY to help, get myself KILLED trying to help, and HE can't even be bothered to even say "Too bad. Thanks for trying"?! I hope FPH comes down and takes out his migraine on YOU, pal!
Me: "Hello? Anybody?"
Step...slip...splash.
O2: [=====]
Dammit.
O2: [===]
I'm dying and nobody cares. Nobody will even talk to me.
O2: []
== Awakenings ==
I rez at Hop save, and start scurrying back to the Fire Altar. When I get there, Dude is gone. Only the FPH remains, still maintaing his attack on the solid rock of the mountain. Trying to gain access to... what? A diamond the size of an ostrich egg? A long-lost lover, trapped in the mountain by an evil sorceror? An aspirin?
I notice that nobody's said anything in chat for a long time. Not to anybody. Not a word.
Crap! I'm still on General! There's no way Dude could have heard anything I've said since I headed up the mountain. He probably thought I abandoned HIM!
I added him to my friends list, and he wasn't online. Maybe he rage-quit, cursing what a big jerk I was. Maybe he started leveling a character in Ignis, where he heard they have conjs that don't promise to help then run away never to be seen again. Maybe he died of old age, waiting for me.
I hope he came back and got the FPH one day.
Anyway, that's my story. All of it is true, except for the parts that didn't happen that way.
So, Scias, it's on. Do you have a tale that can beat that? Or are you willing to admit that I, not you, deserve the title Worst Conjurer Ever?
What say you?

Maybe we can start a "worst conjurer ever" thread because I have a couple of personal stories.
Another noob story. When I first started playing I didn't know where anything was. The mainchat suggested I download the map off a website which had all the names of places. Awesome!! Sometime later there was a gathering for Vesper. Cool I thought why not see what a dragon does. So I run into the valley and I don't see a Dragon but I can hear fighting sounds. I stop and consult my maps while I'm still running.
I had the main map up [over the playing screen] and my gif map partially open and I ran around the valley where "the superboss symbol was". I wasn't paying attention to the actually game as I was running around looking at the arrow on the mini-map, my game lagged then I died. I respawn back to my save and looked at my log. Vesper hits you for XXXX damage.

There are also things that took me AGES to realize. Some examples:
- It took me more than a year (!) to find out that you can tell dead allies from dead enemies. (And I didn't even find it out myself, I was told :P )
- Took me several weeks or even months to find the map xD
- Took me 2,5 years to realize there is a tree just in front of samal o.O
(Some guy cancelled a spell by running behind it and i was like wtf)
- Took me about 2 years to find out that there's an online timer that tells you how long you've been online already ^^
There's one more thing that took me a really long time, too, and it was the most embarassing of all but can't remember right now :(

- took me over a year to find out you can drag items to spellbar
And, when I first heard about "graduation" I thought it meant reaching level 10, I'm glad I didn't brag about it back then :D

Oooh and the noobiest nooby story of all is how I graduated.
I spent the time at 49 at meleketi beach, getting closer and closer to lvl 50. I didn't want to level up yet as I would have liked to do that together with my clan mates. But somehow I couldn't stop grinding and I got very close to level 50, I only needed like 2k more. Then I went to war until I found an opportunity to graduate. But as it happened, I never found a moment in which many clan members were online and several times I got a few XP during a hunt (areas, etc.)
Until I needed 49 more XP for lvl 50 xD
I told myself I would not attack ANY mob at any cost. But one day...
I was running from CS (at oasis back then) to Samal and I saw a lvl 42ish guy being killed by a gol-tar. Heroish as I am I wanted to help him, the gol-tar was unchallenging. I gave him mana and staff-hit the gol-tar and already thinking about a completely different thing I went on running to samal. And suddenly there was this light column around me, it was so familiar and yet I was so confused at first, when I actually realized what had just happened it was already gone and I was like... Oh.. I'm lvl 50... DARNIT. NOBODY was around, not a single player saw me level up xD I ran to samal and said OMGOMG I LEVELLED UP I'M 50 NOW!! And there were a couple of holas looking at me like wtf.
Yeah. That's the exciting story of my amazing graduation... :cuac::clapclap:

@ Ark - I don't think the online timer was put in place until the fatigue update, so you may not have missed it as long as you think :P.
My noob story....gotta be my first time conjing. I was playing a level 46 conjurer which wasn't mine trying to defend algaros fort from ignis. I was very excited, never had healed anyone before, put myself into a full support setup with the works. I got to the fort and noticed a person in the midst of 3-4 people and he was getting the snot beat out of him. I clicked on him and began frantically click heal 5. After a few seconds i saw him enter army of one. Relieved that I had some more time I decided to see if i wasn't in range. As I ran closer I watched in horror as a barbarian mind squashed my little outnumbered knight, and he was destroyed right in front of my eyes. Quickly I turned and ran into the fort before the enemies murdered me. At this point, i was in fact only more excited because at my first fort fight I had a chance to use the resurrect spell. So, as soon as i got into the door I nailed the sanctuary button and ran back out to help my friend and save him the long walk from the save. I ran over to him, his body already selected, and started to hit res. After a couple times it wasn't working I moved closer and kept trying. Then I noticed my sanctuary almost out, as soon as it ran out I hit steel skin and continued to try and res my poor knight friend. When steel skin was almost out i ran back to the fort to wait for some cooldowns. I proceeded in that fashion for the duration of the war. Finally all the ignis were dead and I began to wonder why my syrtis friend had not yet ressed at the alter instead since it appeared my res was not working. I went out again and with no one around began to experiment with res on my knight friend. After about 5 minutes a friendly english speaking spanish guy came up to me inquiring as to what i was trying to do to that ignis knight. I was heartbroken, my first time playing a support healer and I had spent the entire battle trying to heal then rez and enemy knight. The truly noobish part, at this time I already had a level 50 hunter and should have, with no problem, been able to tell the difference between realm players.
(just clarification - this was back when the entire name of the enemy didn't appear in the realm color, only their clan did, the names were all that blue color)

Hahahaha, that sounds much like my hunters graduation.
I was level 49 only one mob kill from 50 (couldn't help myself, i didn't want to spend a long time grinding at my grad i wanted to go straight to the fun afterparty). I was on the noober end of syrtis Efe beach "guarding" my friend as she leveled. She went afk for a couple minutes and of course it was then that a hunter uncamoed on her, unaware of my stealthy presence. I jumped him and he immediately ran for dear life(a true hunter). I chased for a couple seconds then headed back to my friend. On the way back i was aggroed by a stone golem. The golem hit me twice before I got low profile off. Long story short, my friend came back and without wasting any time guess which golem she chose to kill? You got it! I leveled up then and there and didn't get my afterparty until the next day. One person was witness to my tremendous achievement of level 50 with no boosters.

Oh yeah I forgot to tell how my afterparty was. As there were no Ignian friends online and I was on mumble with the german guardians from Syrtis, I went to hunt with them in Alsius ^^
We failed quite soon I think, zerged near PP, but we had a lot of fun on mumble. Maybe some GGs here remember that... ;)

On my first invasion, we broke Ignis gates with no problems, and since it was not planned at all, we started to run to the gem.
So imagine mighty Syrtis zerg of noobs running trough Ignis land and at one moment, i asked on General, "WTF, do some1 know where we are heading?" Silence spoke back to me.
All stopped and started to look around.
Suddenly, a barb (won't mention his name here, cos he could tell this story) appear from the back and yelled "Follow me, I know the path, I use to play Ignis on Ra.".
Mighty Syrtis zerg started to roll again, and we were getting closer and closer to our destination, killing everything on our way.
As we were approaching to our destination, our barb zerg leader suddenly stated:
"Hm, this looked different before!?"
Nevermind, we continue to follow the guy. I knew him from before, grinded sometimes with him, as well as being in battle and conjuring him. So I had no doubts on his good intentions.
Full of confidence, we entered some rocks, stucked there, and while finding the only way out, half of the mighty Syrtis zerg ended in sea, and drowned there.
I did not know would i laugh or would i cry.
Conclusion: never follow barbarian which name starts with A.

I have 2 noob stories i cant pick which is my favourite :D
1. My first EVER char on RO made about 14 months ago a knight called Gawn i was lvl 12 and had just become a knight. I thought hmm this is boring I was informed by my girlfriend that I should join a clan and talk to some people, I was introduced to Dunmer and he said that he was at algaros and he could recruit me if i waited. Not being an overly patient person i walked from Altaruk to Alga through syrtis through a fort war to alga just to get recruited into Team Pwnie. I was killed about 3 times by hunters on the way XD
2. I was a lvl 32 Knight in syrtis this time and we where invading Alsius :D i joined the fight and got hyped up in the moment. We broke the door and i was in a bloodlust running with the group killing as we ran to the gem.
We got to the gem and Outlaw and Rrraargh where standing next to it looking at it. Me being the noob thought OOOOHHHH shiney! and grabbed the gem. Immediatly i regretted this.
I could see Outlaw facepalming through his char, he then simply said "Run" so me being the noob ran my little nooby legs off towards syrtis and safety blood lust replaced by blind panic of the situation i was in.
What didn't help was the blind confusion of my realm mates. Things like "WTF is a noob doing with the Gem" and "OMG this is gonna be a fail" I ran across PP2 and hugged the Algaros mountains fear of being labled "the noob who lost us a gem." i had get to the gate.
(i had wireless internet at this point and my router SUCKED) I start lagging as i see Efrendi and some other ignis out the corner of my eye and i immediatly start going into a fit of swearing and panic, my connection doesnt look too great either.
I get to the teleporter Efrendi has feinted me twice i'm down to 15k health i'm clicking the Travel button at supersonic speed i make it inside and realise at lvl 32 i got a gem from alsius to syrtis.

I cannot forget my very very first time when I entered the warzone, I was standing on the realm gate and watched if anyone is not there :P I felt like out there is a jurassic park. When I came out I was aware of every noise I heard I cannot describe that feeling it was amazing :)

I discovered that it was possible to put spells/items in the hotbar at lvl 49 (I was only using the spellbook before :D)
I discovered the "hide helmet" option at this moment too (I wasn't wearing hats before because it was looking too weird)
I finally found something for you GythaOgg (and we will see who is the worst...) :
I was lvl 50, it happenned some months ago. It was the evening. I just logged on and saw on the map that Syrtis captured Samal (hurray farm time !).
So I mounted my horse and ran to pb in order to go to Samal but at pb - forced dismount - then 2 goat knights plus one hunter ganking me - You have died ! -...
So, back to Central Save a bit pissed off.
I was really too lazy to run to pb2 to avoid these goats, and I couldn't fight them because I had a support setup and I was even unable to kill a very easy mob with this setup.... So I ran to pb, but I stopped before on the hill to wait for other people... 2 min... 5 min... 10 min... then finally 2 30ishes came (I think they were 1 hunter and 1 knight). I knew we had no chance against the goats at pb but I didn't want to wait more (anyways, all the others were farming at Samal...), so I said :
"Okay dudes, they are at least 3, 2 knights and 1 hunter all high levels, but they are conjless so we may have a chance if I support you, but you will need to go first, because if the hunter sees me he will confuse me and we will all die..."
"Lets go !"
Then we started to move towards pb, I was like 50m behind them. The goats were in front of the bridge, at the Syrtis side, and as soon as they saw them, they rushed on them, leaving the bridge alone...
What a decent conj would do : Supporting as hard as possible the allies fighting against the goats.
What did I do : As soon as I saw this I casted devotion and then... horse... I rounded the fight and crossed pb with the horse, leaving the others being killed by the goats...
"Take that pussy campers !!!"
At this moment I didn't think how bad I did to let these innocent people sacrifiate for me but heh I'm a conj, and it was hopeless, what can I do else ?
So I was glad that I could finally reach Samal, or not - forced dismount - confuse(4) - giant gay pet smashes (5) - You have been defeated by a bitchy Ignis hunter at limit...
"Fuck...I'm done..."

lol.. i have quite a few noob stories xD but my favorite.. lol
Syrtis/Horus i was just comming back to RO since i heard about the launch of Horus havent played in about 4-5 monthes litterly forgot how to play.
i was in a Clan called "Legion of Syrtis" ( i think thats what it was called? xD)
well the clan was a heavy recruitment clan and had ALOT! of low lvl players, Well the clan leader "Krad'tor" called our clan too the wz to take Trelle as a group we met at pp2. we had.. 9 players highest person was a lvl 33 Marks :P i was lvl 24! so we moved out and regrouped in front of trelle on the hill.
the fort was empty ( Not much has changed :P)
Krad'tor was leading this and he told us to lure the melee guards then kill the range guards. We lured both guards we killed and lost 4 people it was Me Krad Salin Aergastes & Bolt. we decided to rush the door! (now killing the melee guards took about 5 minutes lol) so we rushed the door Salin died running too it. as Soon as we touched the door 1 of the melee guards spawned!
Bolt got finished off me and Krad ran off the door we had low hp we both died from archer guards AeR was left and got sammiched by 3 guards!
now this was my favorite noob experience it was soo much fun back then lol!

First day of Horus, we took out noob-zerg all the way to Shana (well Mele the Mighty was at 30 with a master scroll but most of us were under 10 :p) players may remember doors didnt regen Hp when under attack back then so we took shana on the first day about 3 or 4 hours in, we got utterly killed to death by the guards but we got the flag and they were useless at canceling capture back then :p
Second time in Wz on Horus on Umaril, was just over a week in I think so most of us were around the 30 mark I think I was at 27ish, we attacked Trele (seems it was the done thing back then :p And still is though many now try to disencourage it) I supported our guys from the hill as they moved to the gate, still more used to my knight on Ra than this newb conju I forgot to put barrier on (level 3 for all the help it would be :p) took 2 steps forward and got raped by the archer guards so fast I wasnt exactly sure what happened untill I dug the hits out of the regen-ally spam in my log.
Later on Faith went running between Doshim and Rea afk, sure theres a wood in the way but whats the worst that can happen? Top Gear was on, forgot I was logged in, came back and it looked like I got stuck on a tree and picked to death by '12's off an unchall goblin warrior master.
Back when I first started playing and aggro was more heavy, I seem to remember guardian wasps are Neas crossing? Or something similar anyway, but basically being owned by aggro every 5 mins whenever I was logged in.
And lastly,
When I log in on any character and do anything at all.
Edit, damn I used a lot of tounge faces, ah well :p

first time in war I was so excited I tried to attack the alsius guard at agg, then realizing it was an npc I targeted a nearby lock (who was a realmie >.>)
the iggies didn't come till about twenty minutes later, by which time I was one hyper individual and got myself killed almost instantly

Noob story:
I made it all the way until level 47-48 before I realized you can enter the quantity of arrows in the box under the item list. I would literally buy arrows 5000 at a time by spamming my mouse button with double clicks.
Unexplainable Idiot Story:
When I finally realized I could enter the quantity under the item list I got so excited that I just entered 5000 into the box, completely forgetting that arrows come in bunches of 50.

rofl at scias for going through 49 lvls with his spellbook open. you deserve some kind of medal for that.
Here are some noobie experiences im sure all syrtians must have gone through some time or the other:
- fighting the red training dummy before you realized that you gota new weapon from that last quest.
- looking for the goblin tomb... took me days to find it
- noticing a lovely large pile of rocks on the beach and going up to touch it check if you get any special item from it..... 5 seconds later you get to res by the alter.
- checking to see how long you can hold your breath underwater and realizing its not long at all
- a hunters first pet..... green beetle ftw
- looking for npc's in figael... seriously its impossible to find one specific person. "where the f***** is Porlas.... this game sucks i quit...."
- looking for "the barrel"
- Spending hours searching for goblin choppers (im not one to ask for help)
- getting pwned in the:
goblin warrior master quest....
huge green beetle quest.....
stalker phantom quest.....
All the pendant holder quests
- First time in the wz... im sure we all have an epic story reguarding this.
- abbreviations: "wtf is pp?"
- realizing what magnanites are after selling all that you have to an npc
- trying to talk to an npc because you thought it was a real person
- infected chicken?
- Lotion lmao
- getting attacked and killed by your own pet in the arena
- auto-afk running... say no more
- Cupid's kiss
- that random alsius npc standing on the Syrtis side of pp2. scared the shit out of me the first time i saw him
- talking in general instead of clan, expecially when you in a zerg and you dissing someone who happens to be standing next to you
- quickly trying to hop into a fort before enemies catch you only to realized you clicked to much and you hopped back out and now you're dead
- falling off a fort wall into a group of hostiles. never ever survived this
- watching Torld run slower than all the mages in the zerg
- our increadibly feminine looking castle (eferias)
- Mg Noctics and he's random outbursts
- Logging off at Samal then logging on the next day to find yourself standing in the middle of 30 iggies
- Syrtis trying to make a plan is generally funny
- getting killed by a leopards rake(5)
- grinding for an hour after buying a exp-boost scroll then realizing that you didnt activate it (i do this for every scroll i buy -.-)
- being dragon stomped ; "i guess thats why everyone is standing so far away"
and lots lots more

- abbreviations: "wtf is pp?"
and my favorite being from the middle of the U.S. and speaking ONLY english, (and prolly poorly at that)
"1 guy can kill a 'mob' by himself? gotta be a tough player. Don't aggro the mob killer."
Definitions of mob on the Web:
* a disorderly crowd of people
* syndicate: a loose affiliation of gangsters in charge of organized criminal activities
* throng: press tightly together or cram; "The crowd packed the auditorium"
* gang: an association of criminals; "police tried to break up the gang"; "a pack of thieves"

Yeah, I can relate to a lot of these, even being from Alsius.
- noticing a lovely large pile of rocks on the beach and going up to touch it check if you get any special item from it..... 5 seconds later you get to res by the alter.
I once grabbed a ferret from behind because it looked like a rock.
- abbreviations: "wtf is pp?"
I still have to translate in my head - every single time.
- quickly trying to hop into a fort before enemies catch you only to realized you clicked to much and you hopped back out and now you're dead
Quickly hopping into a fort 2 seconds before the door falls and noticing that everyone else from your realm is outside...and dead.
- Logging off at Samal then logging on the next day to find yourself standing in the middle of 30 iggies
s/Samal/Aggs/ and I've done this more often than I care to admit. Not to mention the time I did it at Herb. Bad idea!
- checking to see how long you can hold your breath underwater and realizing its not long at all
Several months ago somebody got it into their head that they wanted to go to Central Island and needed a couple of conjs to help. They had heard ppl could do it by using Vital Surrender somehow. None of us had done it, but I volunteered, and another mage came along, dragging a zarkit. We ran over to Ignis (it seemed like the closest spot) and made our plans. I'll call the guy Dude (but it wasn't the same Dude as the last story).
Me: Dude, you go as far as you can and drown- I'll res you, then Mage, you res Dude, then I'll VS him, then you VS him, maybe that'll get him there.
Mage: I have no clue what you're talking about - I'm a lock.
Dude: ROFL
Me: Facepalm
He had been trailed by that zarkit this entire time, and I didn't notice that he never needed to re-summon him. We decide to try anyway, to see if one res and one VS is enough. Dude enters the water and drowns. I enter the water, because I needed to click on him...and, well, let's just say the O2 countdown is faster than res cast time. Dude and I met back at the save, I don't know whatever became of Mage, all by himself in the middle of Ignis.

Gytha reminded me of one noob story, though for once I'm not the noob :p
I read in the forum that someone (Gawyn I think?) was able to get to the central island (this was before Christmas)
I told some random fella about this some time later and the idiot goes off into the water before I tell him how it was done
I think he has me on /ignore now xD
