Hi
I got the dammed Slow-down in the FPS again.
It appeared when we fighting in Samal again a big Army.
My Fps goes down on 2 :mad: -- what is not playable.
It's the 3rd time i have this now and it always turn up when there are many other Players or/and Player with Horses around.
I guess it might be a Problem with the Engine :huh:
My Ping in that time is around 70 - 150 ms
Normally I have 18 - 65 FPS
Res. = 1280 x 1024
the Settings are for View = low
Terrain = medium
Terrain-detail = medium
the rest is on High --> but a different Set. doesn't change my FPS !!!
Anyone got any Suggestions
My Sys : amd Xp 2500

I fought in Samal yesterday, too. But I had no slow down in my FPS... And your Graphics Card seems to be good.
Are you sure you installed the correct drivers correctly?

i did it with Synaptic so i guess it's right
Edit : I reinstalled the driver and I make a new xorg.conf
so maybe it work now. Hopefully

I set everything to low.... I only noticed a change in the quality of the shadows. But I got a "fps boost"

ok i try that
interesting is
that it is just there when :
1. there are a lot of other players
2. colour is involved ( like red In Samal, or green at the Swamp/Sytris)

FPS = Frames Per Second
The higher the number, the smoother the game runs. If you are constantly getting 2 or 3 FPS, that would give me a headache :p
Below 10-15 FPS and your game is going to look rather "jerky".

yes I tried your advice and had the same graphic bugs then u.
So i put texture as well on max and it works fine.
But still time by Time the FPS slows down
and i guess it's the 3D-engine as it self
the Data seems to stay in the memory and that slows it down.

That is what I want to know, and what does it actually do? Is he saying turning it on actually improves the FPS?

Yes it do, We got that opengl plugin in an update. But you can not save the changes with that activated, you need to fill that box every time you start the game.

Same problem :/
Feisty Fawn 7.04 (when play desactivate Beryl)
Pentium 4 3,06 gHz HT
1024 DDR PC2700 (2x512)
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 - 128Mb (agp 4x)
Before reset all was good, all at hight, but without post processing & view distance low. Dunno why, but the game don't want me make it. I think is my grafic card.
However, all was great, not "freezes", good fps.
After the reset, can't play more 5min, alone ore not. After 5min of plays (+/-) fps raise down to zero).
Try to reinstall the game - nothing. Verify my drivers - all seems good, other games turns good. Try to make a minimal config - the same.
Dunno what to do now :(

Actually the postprocessing option has no effect in the linux client (it's implemented, but it some issues yet to be fixed so it can't be enabled from the launcher)
