View Full Version : Argentina DNS has gone dark

As of this moment, Argentina (.ar) namespace has completely disappeared from the majority of DNS servers. You may have noticed this in-game in the form of being booted from the game while a select minority remained. Note that this is not NGD's doing, and they cannot fix it.

The website and forums can still be accessed from regnumonline.nl (http://www.regnumonline.nl) for now.

Kind regards.

The weird thing, is that i've try to check some webpages with .ar and some of them are good... maybe is just Regnum... or maybe not :o!

It depends on your DNS host or ISP. For some of us, every .ar site cannot be accessed at this time. But others are more lucky, which is why some sites can still be accessed and there is still around a hundred people in game.

EDIT: Everything is working again now, for Regnum Online at least.

Kind regards.

From Facebook:

There seems to be a network problem, please be patient while the people at the datacenter works on it.

***EDIT***

I didn't see this. :sifflote:

The server is back up, thank you for your patience.

...
That was a different issue, I think, because it is happening again right now - me and my clanmates (all living in different countries), have been unable to access any .ar domain names for several hours, even though the game seems to be unaffected.

It seems that NGD encountered a datacenter issue at the same time of this error earlier, which was the real reason for players getting booted, since a DNS problem would only prevent new players from connecting, not boot existing players from the game.

I was able to verify this by logging in manually (bypassing the launcher) after Surak fixed the datacenter problem.

Hopefully the DNS problem will be fixed before too long as it seems that manual logins are not working on the Windows client, leaving me unable to play with my wife who is running Windows Vista. And since we level and play identical characters it is a tad bit annoying. :p

Kind regards.

It was really bad for me earlier and me and Mikan couldn't play ._. It seems my DNS is ok now and the routing thereof of DNS. But it's going a different route to before for me, which means there might still be issues in the US where I normally route through, the new route also seems a bit off being slow at times...
