Ok i'm having problems installing mumble 1.2.2 on Ubuntu 9.0.4, i'm a novice when it coms to linux. I downloaded the file from mumble.sourceforge.net and i'm given a file "murmur.x86" i double click this NOTHING happens nothing even slightly tries to run it (and yes i do have it selected and an executable program and no i dont get an error message when i run it) i've tried executing through a terminal still nothing.
So my questions are, Is anyone having the same problem apart from me and Brotherbrian?
Is there anyone who had this problem and knows the solution?
Do i have to upgrade to 9.10 to get it to run?
also if i use the code: Sudo aptitude install mumble, it just installs mumble 1.1.7.

From the sourceforge page
Ubuntu
Ubuntu carries whatever Mumble version was current at the time of the release in the universe repository. We also maintain a PPA that has the latest version for recent Ubuntu versions
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:slicer
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install mumble
This will get you 1.2.2
