Hello,

I've just reinstalled my OS after having various unrelated issues... but now the intro video does not play and I have no sound at all (openal is installed).

I also find that characters, especially archers, don't render most of the time. All I can see is bow and quiver floating around unless I get really close (like standing on top of them).

Any help would be appreciated ;)

Thank you!

I can't help with anything else - but the intro video got taken out along time ago. :)

Not the NGD one, the little blue man...

EDIT: I get a black screen where the video should be, hitting ESC takes me to the loading screen and the char select screen.

the intro with the ngd guy is nothing more than a ogg vid you should be able to open a file manager and view it with movie player if that don't work then that might explain the rest of your problems corrupt files

Works fine in a file manager and video player, but in-game its a black screen with no picture or sound. The game itself is fine (except the invisible archers), although still without sound.

If I remember right, when using 16 bit and/or safemode, intro does not appear. I cannot guarantee you 100% though.

Thanks for the suggestions.

After fiddling around all night, I've got the video and sound working. It must have been an issue with PulseAudio, which is strange because that's what I was using before the reinstall with no issues at all.

Anyway, I now have sound and the intro video working again, although there's still the issue with archers. I notice it a lot more frequently with guards (actually, its all of the archer guards all of the time), although this might have something to do with everyone running around in costumes :P

I've tried reinstalling the game, but it hasn't helped at all. Again, I can see them when I get really, really close, but I don't understand why it's just archers. Anyone got any ideas?

Try adjusting your "character details" settings.

I have the same problem with archers. Its actually an in game bug, acknowledged by NGD. It seems to happen on fixed pipeline and shader 2.0.

Thanks ;)

Putting character detail up to max helps... but still doesn't fix it. I can now be a little further away, but they're still invisible until I get fairly close (30-35 mtrs, at a guess?)...

EDIT: It happens in all shaders, haven't tested fixed pipeline... I've tried shaders 1, 2 and 3.
