View Full Version : New Glibc dependency error ?

Hi,

I decided to reinstall Regnum after a little amount of time without playing it.

The last version I had installed prior to that time was the 1.6 (it was already having the new models) and that version was working perfectly in my OS , Mandriva 2007.1 .

The current version of the game got installed and the rolauncher works perfectly but then, when the "game" executable is launched by rolauncher, I get this error in terminal and the game exits :

./game: /lib/i686/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./game)

I know this error appears because my Glibc version is 2.4 which is older than the one required by the game.

But I wonder...

Is this "new" Glibc 2.7 dependency mandatory and totally needed by game?
(and this will imply that I will have to install a newer OS, something that I can't do right now due to some hardware problems)

Is it that just something got wrong while building the executable and therefore the glibc 2.7 dependency could be removed with a rebuild allowing older versions to work properly ??? (If this is the case, maybe NGD didn't know of this new introduced dependency)

I would like if someone from NGD, or someone who knows the answer to this questions could reply, at least I would know wheather to uninstall the game and wait until I'm able to install a new OS or to just wait for a new version fixing this.

Thanks in advance and apologies for my bad english.

It should not!

Just uploaded a new version in the experimental server, see if it works for you.
