I was playing this game two years ago on Fedora 8 on the same computer and now I want to start playing again this game ...

,,, but there seems to be some problems:
when I start the game and when fullscreen starts, there is an intro animation and after that some progress bar. When progress bar is at 100%, game crashes with error:

validated 0x7d5e810 [0xD89E5000, 0xD8A13000]
above end: 0x7d5e810 0xD8A38B80 0xD8A13000

Now I use Fedora 13 64-bit with their drivers for ATI Radeon card.

I really want to come back to this game, so help plz...

There was a great update to the new engine (called NG3D 2.0) you need to remove the game and download it (preferable the 64bit version) and unpack it. When you start the client, it will download all resources.

I wonder why the old client don't refuses to work ... :sifflote:

PS: welcome back :beerchug:

I think I found what was wrong:
when I turn off all sounds before starting game, everything works (except sound) :)

I'm using alsa for sound.

Anyone knows if there are some additional libraries or drivers for sound needed?

Do you tried latest libopenal? If your distro have older version you can compile from source. Here is the developer page (http://kcat.strangesoft.net/openal.html).

Poblem solved ...

Libraries on fedora have different names, so alsa-firmware.noarch, alsa-lib.x86_64, alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.x86_64, alsa-tools-firmware.x86_64 and alsa-utils.x86_64 were installed (latest version ... checked at official site of alsa).

I installed alsa-oss.x86_64, alsa-oss-devel.x86_64 and alsa-oss-libs.x86_64 ... and everything works well now :)

Thx alot ieti.

OSS emulation? Yuck!

Sounds like you need to install OpenAL libraries still.
