Anyone here know what "pete" means? I have been told it means "bad player". I sometimes see it typed as just pt, so is it an abbreviation of two words? Is it slang? Is it a very offensive term or more of a friendly insult?

Thanks.

as far a i know it means weak player, but some people use it also for medium level players that don't play well (well not as in how many mob they kill, but as in "he kills people after accepting a truce").
as for the insult level i have no idea, more on the light side I think

Pete, or PT (/pætæ/ as the words P and T are pronounced separately), can mean many different things, but it's commonly used as a pejorative. It can be used in a myriad of ways:

As an insult: meaning a really "noob" player, who's way of playing is really bad or against the rules
Between friends it can be taken as just a joke or way of calling someone's attention
As a way of calling someone "low level player". Remember that it's a pejorative, so it's not recommended to use it in front of the one you're calling "PT".The word comes from the Spanish "chupete" and the action related to it (sucking)... But it has a sexual connotation.

Here, at Regnum, it's not considered a forbidden word or something like that, in fact, it's used more than you think in a non-offensive meaning. For example, if you get killed by an aggressive mob while you were AFK, someone can call you "pete", but it is not meant to be a offense, just a way of telling you that that was something "noobish".
